On environmental contamination

The petitioner alleges that the operation of a slaughterhouse and meat by-products processing plant in the area of Aghion Theodoron Lehaina results in the contamination of water and air by waste and odour emissions. The petitioner deplores in particular the uncontrolled disposal of waste in the Vrontou stream, which flows out in the Kotychi lagoon, part of the Kotychi and Strofylia Wetlands National Park.
