The petitioner is of the opinion that the market situation for groceries, especially beef, sees massive market distortion because of the COVID crisis and the subsequent decrease in demand for beef in gastronomy and tourism. Enquiries show proportional high import of beef from South America. For the protection of European farmers, the petitioner demands to immediately increase customs duties on beef for the longest possible period.
