This week is a celebration for the Ontario gambling industry, marking the first anniversary of the launch of the private iGaming market. GeoCompley, which provides geolocation services to the sector for the event, released a report in its first year. Overall, there were 19.9 million login attempts from more than 744,000 users in 12 months. 동행복권파워볼

Ontario's market was first launched on April 4, 2022, and was the first for Canada because no other state allows unlimited third-party operators to operate legally. It is operated by Ontario's Alcohol and Game Commission and its subsidiary, iGaming Ontario. Meanwhile, GeoComply ensures that all bets are within the state's physical boundaries.

In its report, GeoComply noted that sportsbooks and iGaming platforms generate 19.9 million login attempts worldwide from more than 744,000 users in their first calendar year. This resulted in C$35 billion in processed bets. Of the more than 54,000 attempts, more than 54,000 came from users in the United States who attempted to access Ontario operators about 305,000 times in the first 12 months.

In addition, the province has made more than 3.3 million location fraud attempts on sports betting, meaning that people or programs outside the province have attempted to access the market. In addition, the province recorded more than 219,000 login attempts on fraud-related devices. GeoCompley also found about 1,045 fraudulent rings that affected multiple operators

The geolocation provider also reported that a third of fraudulent investigations were related to Ontario operators, even though Ontario accounted for much less than a third of all traffic in the last 90 days. This involved some of the leading sports books in the business sector, including pointbet, fanduel, betriver, Caesars, bet MGM and draft kings, which operate in the province.

Ontario is also celebrating the event, and on April 4, 2023, the region released its first-year report on the market, which released some interesting data. The sector handled $35.6 billion in bets and brought in C$1.4 billion in revenue. It also found that about 85% of participants who have gambled online in the region in the past three months have gambled on regulated sites.

Basketball was the most bet sport in the first year with 28%, followed by soccer with 15%, soccer with 14%, and hockey with 9%. Nearly half of all gamblers were found to prefer slots, as they accounted for 48% of the Icasino volume. Meanwhile, nearly a third of casino play, or 32%, was captured in table games with live dealers.

A few days before the anniversary, Spinzini Ontario also released a survey on regional sectors promoted by the Angus Reid Forum. The survey found that 43% of online players played digitally for less than a year, with 24% participating in the market over the past six months. 72% of people who knew the Ontario Lottery and Game Company's OLG.ca knew it was run locally.
