We demand that either the German embassy in Tehran be reopened as soon as possible, or that fair and practical visa solutions be provided for Iranian applicants in third countries – without requiring them to reside abroad for several months. Affected individuals should be able to attend their appointments promptly, safely, and without excessive burdens.
Thousands of Iranian citizens have spent months preparing for their journey to Germany – whether for studies, employment, or family reunification. Due to the embassy’s closure caused by war-related circumstances, many are now facing an uncertain and distressing situation. Third countries often only offer visa appointments if the applicant agrees to stay abroad for several months. This is an unreasonable burden for many. Urgent, pragmatic, and humane solutions are needed.
This petition was initiated by Hassan Alinezhad and Kiamehr Lolaei (“Germany Bama” group), an independent Iranian migration initiative.
