Bearing 58 signatures, on alleged discrimination based on gender in the Cypriot armed forces

The petitioners denounce a flagrant and persistent breach of EU law by the Cypriot armed forces who allegedly deny their female personnel the career paths and promotions granted to male personnel with equivalent years of service, thus violating the principle of equal pay for equal work. The petitioners allege in particular breaches of Article 141 TEC (157 TFEU) and Council Directive 75/117/EEC.
