Ontario's alcohol and gaming commission has finally taken action against many grey market sportsbooks operating in the state. On Tuesday, October 4, 2022, the Commission said it granted illegal platforms a deadline of October 31, 2022, allowing them to be legalized in their jurisdictions and participate in the regulatory market. Otherwise, you may be punished by the regulatory authorities.

The province opened a personal online game and sports betting market on April 4, 2022, but operators who submitted applications to AGCO before the market opened and have yet to receive an answer were given a grace period to continue their operations in the province until the submission review proceeds. 검빛경마

This Tuesday, AGCO issued a press release reminding registrants that they must know, understand and comply with all applicable regulatory conditions, including new standards that take effect on October 31. Registered operators who have not yet made their debut in the field must cease their non-regulatory activities after the deadline.

Regulators will also work closely with registered operators and game-related providers to help them understand regulatory requirements. For example, applicants must ensure that they comply with the standards for now. This will oblige us to suspend illegal operations in the province if we do not already have AGCO approval by October 31, 2022.

AGCO said that when the new standards are implemented, applicants who do not comply with them risk being denied a license application. That is why the Commission provides reasonable notice periods to support further transitions to legitimate areas, including informing customers of the possibility of an offline period as an effect of the suspension of registration.

In late August, iGaming Ontario, a subsidiary of AGCO, released its first financial figures for its new Internet gaming segment. In Q1 operations from April 4, 2022 to June 30, 2022, operators in the province collected C$4.07 billion in total handling, but sales were only C$162 billion. This is less than the province originally expected.

In addition, there are 492,000 active player accounts in the market for the quarter, with an average monthly expenditure of C$113. Promotion bonuses are excluded. However, concerns are growing as the holding rate for the quarter is 3.9%, well below the 6.63% in other similar markets such as New York.

There may be more changes in the eye-gaming market in the near future. Recently, Ontario's largest horse racing operator Woodbine Entertainment said it was working to allow the iGaming brand to offer bets on horse racing. The group aims to operate by the end of the year and must obtain permission from the Canadian Paris-Mutuel Agency.
