Przycinanie dziobów u kur ,które utrzymywane są w warunkach braku możliwości stępiania dziobów jest postępowaniem słusznym. Brak przycinania powoduje przerost dzioba i w konsekwencji poważne ograniczenie spożycia paszy i wody . Występuje to np w karmieniu kur w karmidłach gładkich i jednoczesnym braku twardej chropowatej powierzchni bytowania ptaków.
