The world cannot be held hostage by Putin's nuclear threats. We do not negotiate with terrorists. It's too late for any diplomatic solutions, they obviously didn't work. Unfortunately, we are left with only one choice – to fight fire with fire. NATO and allies must deploy peacekeeping troops. Stop "trying" to prevent further escalations and casualties, the war in Europe is ALREADY happening. Putin made that decision for all of us. The arguments against larger involvement of NATO are similar to the arguments that were used not to mess with Hitler. For Hitler the arguments had some (weak) justification because the Hitler eventually attacked Russia. For Putin there is no such justification. He will not attack China - his main target is Europe.
If you not stop this war today, Moldova and Finland will be next in 5 years maximum. Next will be Poland and all EU. 10 years maximum, because Putin become older and loose remainder of his brain. Better stop him now, while you have so stong partner as Ukraine.
NATO doesn't have to work in the attacking troops. The point of this petition is to provide the aerial protection on the Ukrainian sky, in case of attacks conducted by russian air force units, with the goal to prevent successful targeting of the civil objects, infrastructures etc. And therefore prevent thousands of people killed under air attacks. This doesn't impose the "taking under protection" case as per current NATO's regulations.
If the airspace over Ukraine is not closed, this will entail very serious consequences. Russia, feeling its impunity and the impossibility of the weaker side to respond, begins to think completely without thinking about anything other than the goal. What exactly is waiting for us? More war crimes, civilians killed, destinies destroyed, infrastructure destroyed, ruins of cities with a long history, because we all know from the experience of the Chechen wars that Russian aviation bombs everything, and even its own.

If Russia destroys Ukraine, they will set up a strongman autocratic dictator in order to quell Ukrainian resistance. The first thing they will do is move nuclear weapons into Ukraine, since they are such an effective deterrent. Then Western Europe will have an autocratic, nuclear regime at its doorstep. And Russia will do it again. The line must be drawn here. It will not get easier.
I'm not sure if NATO will take this step after all or not, but by showing interest in the subject matter we can prompt any other actions which may be necessary to help Ukraine save as many of its civilians as possible asap. When Russia doesn't fight fair and uses weapons with devastating effects on residential areas, as well as prevents the civilians under blockade from getting their basic humanitarian needs met, there should be a way to equalize the powers.

Russia is fighting a dirty war. To protect the European family one must be decisive and strong with the aggressor who spat on all human rights. Ukraine is and was a part of the free European frontier regardless of formal status and we should not stand by watching it bleed as Russians barbarically bomb it from the air space. The invasion of Ukraine was planned way before the end of February. If Putin is ready to use the nuclear weapons, I can assure you that they have already planned it too, and it won't be only in case of NATO participation. Decisions of NATO have to be determined by more noble feelings than fear of Putin. If the main feeling is fear, why it will be gone when Putin will attack a small NATO country? He will still be able to push the nuclear button and lead to extinction of the mankind. One of the hopes is that it will not work because either some of his generals are not interested in committing suicide or some people of his team have stolen one of the principal parts of the bomb, and it will not work.

Putin acts like a terrorist. He is threatening the entire world with nuclear weapons to stay aside while the Russian army is performing war crimes and crimes against humanity on daily basis. Putin is Osama bin Laden with a nuclear arsenal. He must be stopped! Imagine the USA government giving weapons to families of 9/11 victims and sending them to Afghanistan instead of the army. Basically, that's what NATO is doing to Ukraine now. If WW3 is inevitable, so be it! At least, we (NATO allies) won't die with the blood of Ukrainian children on our hands.

NATO countries cannot get their sh*t together. They're not united on sanctions, they are not united on ammunition (fiasco with sending planes). This weak response is a sign to Russia, China, all other countries - that's ok to launch a war. And my impression is that NATO is ready to ditch Poland if things will go south. And Baltic states later.

I am from Ukraine and voted for this petition. But now I changed my mind as this can do more harm than benefit as it will be tolerated as war of NATO against Russia. Considering Russian propaganda people of Russia will receive strong signal that everything they saw on their TV is truth and in this case we will see only resistance instead of revolution in Russia. What we really need urgently is AA defense like patriots, iron dome, stingers and of course funds

NATO shouldn't go to Ukraine. Yet. But they should send a lot of planes. It's not different from other lethal ammunition. The only difference is Biden is scared of Putin when he mentions nuclear. And it's not sustainable. Because, firstly, even Putin wouldn't risk nuclear war since Russia would be annihilated by NATO. Secondly, Putin senses weak leadership and he will be threatening nuclear every time to get what he wants. Putin doesn't like NATO exists - nuclear, anything - nuclear... And this is not a response from strong leadership. This appeasement will provoke more wars and aggression.

This is a potential Extinction-level event. To navigate this territory carefully, we have to do as much as possible to minimize loss of life while protecting freedom (international legions + weapon support) until Putin can be carefully disarmed and his totalitarian rule over RT dismantled. Ukraine is not a NATO member country. NATO has no right to counter-invade Ukraine and try to impose its will. Countries can send assistance and arms as they please to help Ukraine, but should not send troops.
Except the possibility of nuclear war or at least non-nuclear ICBM, it's also questionable how good this is for Ukraine itself. It's very important to keep a clear head and think several moves ahead. This will probably increase casualties (a lot). Sending NATO planes results in: - More motivated Russian soldiers because they are now fighting their arch-enemy - Russia can shoot anti-air missiles from its own territory and you have to attack it - They will probably respond with a lot of airplanes. It will be a full-scale NATO-Russia war in the air. At minimum - Possible massive civilian bombing
If NATO official go in Ukraine then Putin say that Ukraina did not fighted its freedom but NATO decided and Ukraina is not free country. NATO declaring a no-fly zone over Ukraine would require NATO to enforce that no fly-zone. That means that sooner or later, you're gonna have to shoot down an aircraft. That would lead to all-out war between NATO and Russia which would 100% lead to an all-out nuclear exchange. A full-scale nuclear war will result to countless deaths and the destruction of civilization as we know it. Unfortunately, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
