The initial target should have been set at 200 signatures, not 100. I made a mistake, and didn't realise straight away that I could edit the number.
New justification:
This petition is aimed at protecting children, families and individuals who use the lakeside amenities on the Gort Road entrance to Loughrea. At present 74% of motorists are breaking the 50kph speed limit. theThe stretch of road has already been the scene of one fatal accident, and several near misses, as motorists regularly violate the red lights on all 3 sets of pedestrian lights on this 1 Km stretch of road.
