The problem: Virtual numbers do not have a physical or legal link to the user's identity. Such a policy of services that provide virtual numbers is great for scammers. They use them for their own purposes. Fraudsters hack into accounts and steal the personal data of users, arrange loans, and send spam. Such actions cause problems and millions of citizens around the world.
Reason
The solution: I want to note that users do not always understand the danger of using virtual numbers when registering on websites and online services. Many popular platforms have taken action against virtual numbers on their own. For example, Meta and Amazon only register new users with non-virtual numbers. This is a big step against scammers. But it's not enough. It is necessary to convey to people that they can use all the possibilities of digital tools and services without virtual numbers. For example, Slack with Clerk allows you to use all the functionality of a business phone. Communication with employees or clients, scheduling meetings with partners, forward SMS to Slack, collecting feedback, conducting two-factor verification, and processing customer databases. Everything is possible without the use of virtual numbers with high efficiency and security!
