Save the wrongfully chained-Ban Zoos.

The Zoos Ongoing Operation (Z.O.O.) to abuse animals is increasing every day! Often, when we think of a visit to the zoo with our family we draw a picture in our minds of a sunny day, petting animals, having nice interactions with them and seeing species that we wouldn’t usually encounter, thinking they are well fed and loved.The truth though is totally different. These animals suffer every single day just for our entertainment. They are often underweight and neglected. It’s time to see zoos for what they really are: animal prisons. These animals are exploited, oppressed and deprived of their natural life and habitat. According to PETA, “Animals aren’t actors, spectacles to imprison and gawk at, or circus clowns. Yet thousands of elephants, bears, apes, and others are forced to perform silly, difficult tricks under the threat of physical punishment”.

Another case in point, the effect of this treatment can be seen in a lot of different areas. For instance, 15 years ago a maltreated orca held at Florida's Sea World attacked and killed his trainer during a show, another dolphin in Miami, Florida also killed his trainer trying to drag her underwater in front of the crowd, and many more.
I have probably been to the zoo infinitely more times than you have throughout my career as a zoo keeper at the Attica Zoo. I have witnessed first hand the detrimental effect of captivity on the rare white tigers there. They seem to have lost their will to live. Most of the time, they lie on their backs like lifeless skeletons and barely eat. I knew something had to urgently be done for these animals. So I left my job at the zoo and became an activist.
