Petition addressed to: European Commission, Council of Europe, European Parliament, OSCE, United Nations bodies, and national authorities responsible for Roma inclusion, equality, human rights, anti-discrimination, funding, and civil society participation.

We want European and international institutions to open direct, transparent, and meaningful consultation channels with Roma-led communities, organizations, families, elders, youth, women, churches, grassroots groups, and diaspora networks — not only through recurring intermediaries or selected consultation spaces.

Reason

Roma people continue to face deep antigypsyism, poverty, segregation, discrimination, weak access to housing, education, healthcare, employment, justice, and political participation.

European and international institutions have already acknowledged many of these problems through Roma frameworks, strategies, surveys, reports, and policy commitments. Yet implementation gaps remain serious, and many Roma communities still feel spoken about rather than listened to directly.
This petition is important because Roma participation must not be limited to the same rooms, the same panels, the same reports, or the same familiar channels. No single organization, expert group, platform, or network should be treated as the automatic voice of all Roma communities without a transparent and accountable mandate process.

Roma families, elders, churches, youth, women, traditional communities, grassroots organizations, professionals, and diaspora voices must be able to document their realities, share testimony, support common priorities, and engage institutions directly.

Nothing about Roma without Roma must mean more than selected consultation. It must mean real voice, real access, real participation, decision-making roles, and ownership.

Thank you so much for your support, Global Romani Coalition, Brooklyn

Why people sign

Besseren Zukunft Für Roma Auf dem Ganzen Welt

The Romani communities need more inclusion in social policy making.

Roma communities face extreme discrimination in their daily lives and have no representation in governments worldwide.
