Petition addressed to: The European Parliament and the European Commission, particularly in matters concerning asylum policy, human rights, and visa regulations.

We call for the creation of a special EU-wide humanitarian visa for Russian conscientious objectors. This “protection visa” would offer safety to individuals who refuse military service on moral or political grounds and are at risk of persecution, imprisonment, forced conscription or violence in Russia.

Reason

As the war in Ukraine continues, many Russian citizens are forced to fight in a conflict they do not support. Those who refuse conscription face forced conscription, imprisonment, abuse, or worse. The EU upholds human rights, including freedom of conscience and the right to asylum. It must act now to protect these individuals by offering a legal path to safety. A special visa would save lives, uphold core EU values, and send a powerful message in defense of peace, freedom and human dignity.

Thank you so much for your support, Helene S., Leipzig
