The petitioner calls on the EU to lead by example and adopt one single and mandatory grade of recyclable plastic, because he claims that the different grades of plastic currently being used by manufacturers cannot be recycled together.He argues that, if this is not done, by 2050 the amount of plastic in the oceans will equal the amount of fish in terms of weight.
