As restaurants in New York are struggling to recover from their previous closures, the New York State Game Association came up with an interesting suggestion. Recently, the association urged the Empire State Legislature to expand its gaming license. So that the sector can make more profits and recover from unprecedented conditions. 파워볼사이트 추천
Rising costs, supply chain disruptions, staff shortages and low profitability have plagued restaurant operators, according to a survey. Prior to the unprecedented situation of 2020, there was a $50 billion industry in New York, which generated more than $4 billion in annual sales taxes. Now, the state faces the challenge of creating a new environment for the sector to get back on track.
Melissa Fleischut, president and CEO of the New York State Restaurant Association, commented that New Yorkers are big fans of sports betting through land casinos or mobile devices. She added that Empire State should seize economic opportunities, expand the types of licenses available to restaurants, and meet consumer demand.
In addition, she noted that the sector is well positioned to take advantage of the market and grow the state's sports betting environment. Mr. Fleischert explained that not all restaurants must have sports betting terminals and kiosks and that while the expansion of available licenses may not be a grace for the industry, it is an option for further much-needed revenue.
Michele Ciavarella, chairman of Ellis Game Technologies, said the state offers the best opportunity to capitalize on the enthusiasm of sports betting in retail stores, as demonstrated by the success of mobile sports betting. She also believes that the expansion of sports betting could play a major role in the recovery of the severely battered leisure and hospitality sectors.
Last month, Governor Casey Hochul's office declared that the state received more than $900 million in tax revenue in the first year of mobile sports betting. In a press release, the governor's office explained that the new mayor brought in more than $709.2 million in revenue, as well as $200 million in licensing costs from operators.
Meanwhile, there are lawmakers concerned about the negative effects of mobile sports betting. That's why, in January 2023, Democrats Louis R. Sepulveda and Leroy Comley introduced Bill S1550 that would require all gambling and sports betting ads in the state to include warnings about possible harm to gambling activities.
