Neptune Group, which invested in a casino VIP promoter in Macau, reported a net profit of 148.8 million Hong Kong dollars (US$19.2 million) for the year ended June 30, 2014. That was down 93.8% year-over-year, the Hong Kong-listed company said in a filing on Friday.

The company said the recent slowdown in the Macau gaming market led to a "loss of impairment of HK$111.1 million in investments available for sale." This led to a decline in the value of investments in the revenue streams of the Galaxy Macau casino's junket operator in October 2013.

It added that for the same reason it had to amortise HK$88.6 million from its investment in the revenue stream of junket operators at City of Dreams Casino in February 2014. 파워볼사이트

The company's revenue rose 23% year-over-year to HK$710.4 million, while interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization gains (EBITDA) fell 8.7% to HK$517.6 million.

Neptune said it is investing in junkkits, which operates VIP rooms at six casinos in Macau and runs a total of 89 game tables.

"Macao's entire gaming market was slightly affected by the soft landing impact of the Chinese economy in the first half of 2014," the company said in a filing.

However, the company still believes it will continue to benefit from investments in Macau's VIP junket business. "We are cautiously optimistic about our VIP room business [in Macau]," it said.

Neptune will continue to develop its presence in Macau and elsewhere to diversify revenue streams, it added.
