Genting Hong Ltd., a joint venture partner at Philippine Resorts World Manila Casino Resort (pictured), said in a filing on Wednesday that its boss had resigned.

"Mr. Chua has confirmed that he has no disagreement with the board and that there are no other matters to note to the company's shareholders regarding his resignation," Genting Hong Kong added in a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

Genting Hong Kong also operates casino cruise ships under the Star Cruises brand. The company's ships are based in Hong Kong, and can only open their game courts after sailing to international waters.

Mr. Chua participated in the opening management of Resorts World Manila in 2009.

Last year, a partnership with Alliance Global Group Inc., a Philippines-based joint venture known as Travellers International Hotel Group, postponed a planned sale of shares to raise money for a second casino resort in Manila, a $1.1 billion Resorts World Bayshire project. In July 2013, JV said it was allocating $600 million to expand its existing properties instead.

The second phase of Resort World Manila, which includes the expansion of Marriott Hotel Manila and the addition of 227 rooms, should be ready by the end of 2015.

Phase 3 will consist of a new gaming zone and two new hotels, Hilton Manila and Sheraton Hotel Manila, Traveler said. Phase 3 will be completed by 2017.
