We demand an end to the war in Gaza
Reason
We want the war in Gaza to end. We are against Hamas terrorism and against the Israeli government's genocide. We cannot stand by silently while so many innocent people are being killed. We cannot condone the annihilation of the Palestinian population. We cannot tolerate hunger, the destruction of their homes and the death of so many children. In the face of what we consider genocide, we must demand that human rights and the rules of international law be respected.
We cannot look the other way, nor can we remain indifferent. We must protest, and we must do so not only for the Palestinians in Gaza, but also in defence of the values of our democratic society. The values of a responsible citizenry that demands a firm commitment to peaceful coexistence.
Those who support this cruel violence want us to do nothing, to feel powerless and hopeless. We must respond with the conviction that we will win, that we are optimistic because it is just.
We do not know how long this horror, this unbearable violence and cruelty will last, but when the future remembers what is happening now, we will be able to tell our children and grandchildren that we did everything we could. That we tried with everything we had. That we did not give in to discouragement or bow down to the power of those who want to continue this war. That we decided to unite the strength of reason of many to defeat the unreasonableness of a few.

What is happening to the Palestine citizens in Gaza is terrible, unacceptable and immoral. As Europe, we can no longer hide behind the United States and Israel. They are not fulfilling their obligation to provide humanitarian aid. Europe is the only entity that can and must do something about this now.
A humanitarian peace mission with military security must be set up as soon as possible, with the goal to form three safe bridgeheads on the coast of Gaza. In those areas sufficient water, food, medical aid and security must be provided to the people of Gaza who are trapped and are starved deliberately.
