In 2003, he became the first "cycling hit No. 2" hitter in KBO League history to hit a single, a double, and a triple in succession, starting with a home run against Hyundai in Suwon on April 15.

Thames had two cycling hits in 2015 alone. On Apr. 9, he set his first cycling hit record with a double-homer-homer-homer-homer-homer-homer-homer-triplet against KIA at Gwangju Kia Champions Field. On Aug. 11, he achieved the KBO league's first "One Season Cycling Hit No. 2" record by posting a single-homer-triple-double at Mokdong Stadium.

Both Yang and Thames have left huge traces in the history of the KBO league. That's why Yang was called a "God," and Thames became a legend with just three years of playing in Korea. Now in his third year as a pro, Kim is challenging the record that only these legendary players have. Expectations are high that he will be able to achieve this feat as he combines the ability to run to third base despite hitting that separates left-center field, and the ability to hit long balls over the fence without having to hit a home run.
