On the pollution in Nafplio (Greece)

The petitioner claims that the right to clean and safe air as well as unpolluted ground of over 50.000 people living in the wider area of Nafplio is being systematically violated by two factories processing fresh olive core and operating in an allegedly protected area. The petitioner has already complained to the local authorities, the Minister of the Environment and the Greek Ombudsman, but to no avail. He claims that there are no stations measuring the quality of air in the area, and that there is no control on a regular basis of the damage to the soil caused by the fresh olive core storage and its waste management.
