openPetition suggested we send an update, so here it is: As previously announced, the ESCOM and ICMPC committees have formally rejected our petition. At the same time, hundreds of international colleagues agree that our conferences can and should be much more sustainable and inclusive. In addition, hundreds of international colleagues would like to participate actively and to be treated equally regardless of financial means. The multi-hub approach makes that possible. We are now preparing a list of possible hubs and hub organizers that could be added to the Helsinki hub. We will propose the details when they are ready. Meanwhile suggestions for specific hub locations and organizers are welcome.
