We, the undersigned Albanian citizens and members of the Albanian diaspora, call on the United States to maintain the non grata designation of former Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha AND extend the designation of nan grata to current PM Edi Rama.
This petition reflects our support for continued accountability, anti-corruption efforts, and the enforcement of democratic principles and the rule of law.
Reason
The fight against corruption and the promotion of accountability are essential for Albania’s democratic future.
Many Albanians believe that maintaining and extending this designation reinforces the principle that public officials must be held to high standards of integrity and transparency.
This petition gives Albanian citizens and members of the diaspora an opportunity to express their support for democratic values, the rule of law, and continued efforts to combat corruption.
FURTHERMORE, we are a proud people who desire self-determination and the right to choose our own leaders.
We respectfully thank the United States for its continued commitment to accountability and democratic principles.
