Since the punishments for pedophiles and rapists are shamefully low and make a mockery of the victims, as many perpetrators only get away with a suspended sentence, it is absolutely necessary to change the legislation so that there should be no suspended sentences for these acts, nor any agreements on reducing the sentence and the introduction of no statute of limitations for sexual assaults. Current sentences range from 6 months to 15 years, which is decidedly insufficient and should be doubled. In addition, they do not get long prison terms. Perpetrators psychologically destroy the victims for life and many victims commit suicide.
