We would like the Government to help and support people in Turkey, officially the Republic of Türkiye, who have become homeless and have relatives in the Republic of Ireland to come to Ireland, like the Ukraine Family Scheme Visa.

Reason

There are many Turkish people in Ireland whose families have lost their homes because of the earthquake and they are worried about them. The Government should allow Turkish people living in Ireland to bring their family members who have been affected to Ireland. On Monday, February 6, two earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.7 occurred in the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş and 7.6 in the Nurdağı district of Gaziantep. The extent of the damage increased after the earthquake, which was felt in approximately 20 provinces and affected 11 provinces. After the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş and Gaziantep, the number of casualties and collapsed buildings in the earthquake area is increasing day by day. Over 6,444 buildings were destroyed in Kahramanmaraş alone. On Thursday, February 9, 2023, Vice President Fuat Oktay announced that the death toll in Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes increased to 17 thousand 674 and the number of injured to 72 thousand 879.
