Der ASVZ hat nicht vor, den Wellnessbereich am Hönggerberg zu verkleinern, gemäss Aussage der Geschäftsleitung am 25.04.2024. Jedoch kam heraus, dass der ASVZ Vorstand der Stossrichtung “Kein Wellness” Ende 2023 zugestimmt hat. Das heisst Mittelfristig sollen alle Wellnessanlagen im ASVZ geschlossen werden. Diese Meinung kann sich bis zur definitiven Schliessung, aufgrund neuer Ausgangslagen, noch ändern. Grundlage dafür ist, dass die Besitzer der Infrastruktur und Sprecher der finanziellen Mittel, namentlich ETH und UZH, sich aufgrund hoher Kosten stark gegen die Wellnessbereiche ausgesprochen haben. Des Weiteren sieht die ASVZ Geschäftsleitung die verhältnismässig wenigen Nutzer (im Vergleich zum individuellen Fitness), die höheren Kosten, sowie die einseitige Nutzung der Wellnessbereiche. Diese Faktorenkombination hat dem ASVZ Vorstand die Stossrichtung klar gemacht.
Bis die Wellnessanlagen jedoch umgebaut werden können (Umbaukosten sind noch nicht gesprochen und ein Projekt existiert auch noch nicht), dauert es wahrscheinlich noch ein paar Jahre. Ich bin mir bewusst, dass dies ebenfalls nicht eine Nachricht ist, die ihr hören wolltet. Wir auf unserer Seite schauen jetzt wie es weiter geht und versuchen in Kooperation mit dem ASVZ unser Bestes um das Verschwinden des Wellness im ASVZ zu vermeiden.

Dear supporters
The ASVZ has no plans to reduce the size of the wellness area at Hönggerberg, according to a statement by the management on 25.04.2024. However, it emerged that the ASVZ board has agreed to the "no wellness" strategy at the end of 2023. This means that all ASVZ wellness facilities are to be closed in the medium term. This opinion may change before the definitive closure due to new circumstances. The basis for this is that the owners of the infrastructure and spokespersons for the financial resources, namely ETH and UZH, have spoken out strongly against the wellness areas due to high costs. Furthermore, the ASVZ management sees the relatively few users (compared to individual fitness), the higher costs and the one-sided use of the wellness areas. This combination of factors has made the direction clear to the ASVZ Board.
However, it will probably be a few years before the wellness facilities can be converted (conversion costs have not yet been discussed and a project does not yet exist). I am aware that this is also not the news you wanted to hear. We on our side are now looking at how things will continue and, in cooperation with the ASVZ, are trying our best to avoid the disappearance of wellness in the ASVZ.
