Petition is addressed to: Ernst Nevrivy

A sexually explicit exhibition has been on display at Seestadt in Vienna since December 21, 2024. An erect p*n*s is shown in a very large picture, alongside sexually explicit or pornographic depictions of women. The first picture in the exhibition is also a hybrid of a woman and an animal exposing the middle finger.

But that's not all. The exhibition is presented to the public in the Seestadt art space (Maria Tusch Strasse 22), well-lit and clearly visible to anyone passing by. The square in front of it is frequented by people of all ages, including children and young people.
It should be clear to everyone that these images do not promote a healthy approach to sexuality and have a particularly negative effect on children (see links below).

I therefore appeal to the responsibility of the organizers not to make such an exhibition accessible to the public and either to end the current exhibition with immediate effect or at least to choose a location that is not open to the public.

Reason

This is primarily about the well-being of children and young people, which can be negatively affected by this exhibition. Every responsible person, including the organizers of the exhibition, should be aware of this.

As the art space is directly promoted and actively advertised by the City of Vienna in the 22nd district (see link to the exhibition below), I am addressing this concern to Mr. Nevrivy, District Head of the 22nd district in Vienna.

Mr. Nevrivy, I ask you to take action and to end this exhibition or move it to a protected area to protect children and young people from grossly sexualized depictions, as it can have a negative impact on children's and young people's mental health and approach to sexuality (see links below).

News

  • Dear supporter,

The exhibition has now ended. The official end was January 12th, but the offensive pictures were still hanging in the art room until the middle of this week. These have since been removed, and other pictures that from my perspective are at least suitable for the general public can still be seen there.
The organizers of the exhibition have heard our concerns and responded accordingly.

As you have been a major part of this success, I would like to thank you very much for your support!
It has enabled us to show the organizers and those responsible that some people do not agree with the exhibition in this form, which also put some pressure on the organizers to end the exhibition and take down the controversial pictures.

  • Dear supporters,

These have since been removed, and other pictures that from my point of view are at least suitable for public viewing can still be seen there.

I would also like to express my thanks to the organizers of the exhibition, who noticed this request and responded accordingly.

I would also like to emphasize here once again that there are very different viewpoints and opinions on this petition and the exhibition in general, each of which has its justification.

My main concern is to protect children in particular from accidental exposure to sexually explicit content and to ensure... further
