In order to alleviate the current housing crisis in the Amsterdam metropolitan area, this petition demands to annulate the municipal housing law restricting the amount of individual tenants per residence to two in total.

Reason

By allowing more than two single tenants in each apartment, larger apartments that were previously too expensive for two tenants now become financially easier to manage with three tenants. This makes more apartments available for those who have difficulty finding housing. The city's current rules for renting out rooms primarily exclude students by requiring that they have lived in the apartment for at least two years.
Those affected and targeted with this petition are Dutch/international Students and people from lower and middle income households in the central and greater Amsterdam area.

Thank you for your support, Erik Würthner from Amsterdam Netherlands
