We call on the Chamber to lay down in law that nuclear energy must remain part of the energy mix for at least the next 10 years, and that research into nuclear energy must be further supported.
Razones.
Nuclear power, generated by the existing power plants, has extremely low CO2 emissions. Closing these plants, and replacing them with gas-fired ones, would lead to increased CO2 emissions, but also to increased electricity bills. In addition, security of supply would be compromised.
