Why must corruption win?
For the children in our community who spend time on that baseball field, creating friendships, keeping them out of trouble and most importantly encouraging them to stay active.
Kids need sports, kids need to be outside. I believe the children are truly our future. We should not be paying high prices to have kids participate in outdoor sports and teams.
We are a baseball family, and salt lake definitely needs to pay attention to these little leagues. Its unfair to our kids when the surrounding city's have such better accommodations for the prices
Baseball is good for kids and our community.
I have friends who are directly impacted by these rising fees and it’s prohibitively expensive to have their children participate in baseball.
Our city needs to support families, community interaction and outdoor activities for kids. Taylorsville and Murray are great examples of how these parks should be supported by the municipality. These fees are exorbitant and growing at an unsustainable rate.
think of the kids - this should be reduced so fees aren't so high and everyone can play
Baseball needs to be available to more families. Recreation is low on the items that need to be paid for, and will be dismissed if it is too expensive.
Because the state is trying to treat people unfairly- and it ultimately punishes the children
Fees for youth sports should not be prohibitive and in line with other communities around Salt Lake
The youth need recreational opportunities that are affordable to all! This is not the place to get more tax dollars. Please keep the leagues thriving and growing to include everyone.
It is definitely something that needs to be adjusted.
Facilities should be affordable for family use
My kids participate in Foothill Baseball and I’m interested in keeping it affordable and accessible for kids in all situations.
Youth baseball creates a community of people. These kids fund support and a sense of belonging. Parents find support and a new community.
Youth Sports shod be more accessible to all youth, regardless of socioeconomic status. High fees for field rentals can out youth sporta out of reach for many people, and place undue financial strain on others.
I have nieces and nephews, as well as my own future kids, that will play at Foothill. I grew up playing there and my memories and friendships are priceless.
Local baseball fields are a treasure that must be preserved. Please keep the field rental rates reasonable so that our city's kids can enjoy learning how to play baseball and softball.
Youth sports should be affordable to promote physical fitness and socialization. High field fees get passed on to families ans its a barrier to entry. Please lower the ball park fees. I
Baseball brings our children and neighbors together to form a sense of community. Please keep fees affordable for our league.
Affordable recreational sports in our city is a very important part of our youth development and mental health. High field fees result in higher registration fees making it difficult for parents to afford.
Baseball fields are too expensive
Giving kids outlets to build life lessons in accountability and teamwork should be incredibly important to the city. By charging exorbitant fees it takes away the ability to participate for the families who most need it. These facilities should be considered public space much like our parks.
This is inconsistent with rental fees in all other neighboring cities. The rate being changed is what other cities are charging per player for a season for maintenance. I feel this being applied as an hourly rate was an attempt to maintain similar fees, but was done so incorrectly. As a sister league to Salt Lake City that want to support it's growth, this seems unfair to the citizens and will drive them to travel far to play in other leagues. That's not what we want!
Since we don't charge people to walk through city parks why charge kids to play baseball?
I love youth baseball, let the kids play
My son loves to play baseball
Keep rec baseball alive!
I have a son that participates and I have helped coach his teams for the past 3 years in the Avenues League. It is ridiculous that fees are even charged and that fees have been raised to this amount. The league is ran completely by volunteers and the majority if not all of the maintenance done on the fields is done by volunteers (other than weekly mowing of grass if that even happens). The fields are filled with animal holes, wasps, and fire ants and after seeing fields in other surrounding cities, the conditions are an embarrassment and certainly should be a free for residents and for a non profit recreation level league.
