Please include Staffordshire Bull Terrier Dogs as a named breed in the Dangerous Dog Act
Reason
Staffordshire Bull Terrier attacks have increased dramatically and the breed is deemed a 'get out clause' by those wishing to have a 'gun on a lead', in terms of the dangerous Dog Act or 'old' Dog Act. This breed is often owned by those not equipped to provide an animal with the behavioural support necessary to control risk to people, property or other animals, including dogs. The statistics will show the rest. Ireland includes this breed as controlled dogs. I believe that there maybe future plans to include the breed in the Act. This needs reaffirming and passed as quickly as possible to register each dog in the UK.
