Petition richtet sich an: Kamra tad-Deputati ta' Malta

I am a third-country national (TCN) living in Malta, where I've dedicated my skills and efforts to contribute positively to society. Despite this, I find myself quietly discriminated against due to recent changes in Maltese law concerning driving licenses for TCNs. This law clearly goes against the spirit of the European Union, which stands for equality and anti-discrimination, yet Malta openly implements a policy that discriminates against non-EU nationals.

Under the new legislation, TCNs are subjected to different requirements and restrictions for obtaining a driving license in Malta. This is not only unfair but also unjust, considering we TCNs contribute to Maltese society and pay taxes like any other resident. This law not only disregards our rights but also further marginalizes a group that already faces challenges due to their non-EU nationality.

The discrimination at play here is blatant. Malta should not be implementing policies that rely on discriminatory practices, especially when they contradict EU law. The European Union was created to foster unity, equality, and integration. Therefore, it's essential that all member states uphold these principles. To create a fair society, every person, regardless of their nationality, should have equal access to rights and opportunities.

This petition aims to reach a wider audience, gather public support, and address this issue at higher levels, including the EU Parliament and the European Court of Justice, as well as the United Nations' Discrimination Unit. By raising our voices collectively, we can push for the revocation of this discriminatory law and strive for a fair, equal, and integrative society within Malta and the EU.

Join me in urging the Maltese government to revoke this unjust law. Let us stand up for equality and the values that the European Union embodies. Please sign this petition to support ending discrimination against TCNs in Malta

Begründung

We are asking for EU and UN to intervene into this quite action of discrimination towards large number of people

This measure is disproportionate, effectively discriminatory, and creates an unjustified administrative and financial burden by reducing the stability of a licence that is based on technical competence.

Noch kein CONTRA Argument.

Warum Menschen unterschreiben

Becose is discriminating

As a third-country national, EU law _binds_ Member States to treat you as an equal human being once you’re lawfully resident — especially in employment and social rights. The goal is integration, not second-class status.

Because there is a lot of discrimination for tcn workers on Y plate industry... We need the same conditions of locals

Concerning driving licences for TCNs

Knowing how fast the Government offices work, people will be forced to stay at home without income for couple of months, every year.
