In 2021, Tondiraba Park opened in Lasnamäe. It was planned to have three playgrounds: one paved and two with modern surfaces.
When the park opened, the surface was in place, but there were no basketball backboards. They're also missing from the picture above, which is odd.
Most likely, there was an approved project for which funding was received.
The surface was removed for the winter and converted into a skating rink. When summer arrived, nothing was returned. According to information received from the city, the surface is now in storage.
In the summer, a roller skating rink was converted there, but it's almost always closed.
It turns out that the city, in favor of a commercial project, has deprived children and adults of the opportunity to play basketball on a safe surface. This surface dries quickly after rain, which is crucial in our weather. Moreover, it's available, but it's sitting in a warehouse or missing.

Begründung
- For officials, three courts in different locations are three different points of pride. For players, it's always a mystery where to go to play.
- A single court can be either too crowded or too crowded.
- If two or three courts are close together, children and adults will always go there. There's always company and space.
- Even casual passersby can join in and learn about the game.
- The possibility of communication between different nationalities in a natural environment
- In such a place, younger players learn from their elders, which is important for the development of basketball.
- It's worth noting the possibility of hosting competitions. Streetball is now an Olympic sport.
Сам играю в баскетбол и мои дети играют. Хорошие условия для доступных игр в баскетбол на улице очень важны как для детей, так и для взрослых. Особенно с учётом, что аренда залов становится всё дороже.
