Das "da Gianni" ist nicht nur als Quartierinstitution wesentlich für das Heimatgefühl der Bewohner, sondern das Haus strahlt auch gegen aussen heimelige Behaglichkeit aus, wie sie allen modernen Bauten abgeht. Der Abriss wäre ein schmerzhafter kultureller Verlust - einer mehr in diesen neoliberal bestimmten Zeiten.
