I am calling for accountability and for Conner Rousseau to step down after making a comparison
between a sitting elected US President and Adolf Hitler. Such remarks trivialize the historical
reality of the Holocaust and risk undermining the experiences and memory of its victims and survivors. Public leaders taking a government salary paid for by the people carry a responsibility to speak with truth, care and historical awareness. This petition reflects my belief that this standard was not met.
Public officials must be held to the highest standards. By making extreme historical comparisons and consistently spreading misinformation, Conner Rousseau has disrespected the gravity of the Holocaust and the transparency the Belgian people deserve. Someone who fails to uphold truth and
respect history should not continue to represent the public or receive a government salary funded by Belgian taxpayers.
