Gas imports from Russia, which are most commonly transported through North Stream 1 pipeline, finance the Russian regime around Putin. Natural gas can thus directly be linked to Putin‘s aggression against Ukraine. To put a stop to Russian expansionism and neo-imperialist aggression in Eastern Europe, it is our duty to stop funding Putin’s wars by shutting down North Stream 1.
Why North Stream 1? 
One third of Russia’s annual gas exports - 60 billion m³ of natural gas per year - are transported through North Stream 1. The pipeline directly connects Russia and Germany and thereby bypasses Ukraine as an alternativ transit route.
Stopping North Stream 1 would strengthen Ukraine‘s role as an important and safe transit country for Russian gas. Moreover, the possible reduction of Russian gas imports by one third would be massive leverage in the negotiations to achieve peace in Ukraine.
