I read about this petition and, even though I don't live nearby, I feel that this can be precedent setting as the YMCA is a national religious organization (Christian is the third word in the acronym). Women and children should not be subjected to a universal locker room anywhere in the USA, so I stand with these concerned citizens of Quakertown. Having separate locker rooms for men and women should remain the standard practice everywhere in the USA. Biology is real. Men and women are different. Build a third lockerroom if you have enough members who are questioning which sex they are or feel that they are neither. But do not allow the biological men into the women's locker room.

I have a teenage granddaughter who swims at the Y with the high school swim team. I do not think it is safe to let teenage girls in the same locker room area as teenage boys and older men. Too much can go wrong. As a member of the Y I am not sure I would feel comfortable going into an area like this myself to get changed, especially if it is mostly empty. Anyone who doesn’t feel comfortable changing in an open locker room can either use the family changing area, wait to get changed when they get home, or change in a bathroom stall.

Because I’m a fifteen year old girl and I don’t want to change right next to a full grown man. I’m concerned pedophiles will use that to their advantage and try and rape women. That will make it 10 times easier for men to sexually assault or rape woman.
