  • These new units, located at the center of a residential development, in a quiet courtyard, are of great nuisance due to the very loud noise of machinery they make.
  • This results in a loss of our enjoyment of our flats (living rooms, bedrooms) and balconies: the noise is severe and non-stop, even at night.
  • No being able to ventilate our flat at night in the warm weather has negative consequences for our health.
  • Due to the detriment they cause to residents, we're asking for their immediate removal or relocation.

Begründung

  • Quietness and outside space are key criteria for wellbeing and the housing market. Residents may be forced to move out or indure a loss of value of their properties.
  • Lack of sanctions from the Council despite its own rules been broken because ventilations were illegally put: they were not included in the original permit 2015/1895, denied again in the new application 2022/0589 and are also the object of a 6 months overdue Breach of condition notice 2022/270/ENF.
  • Impact is collective as they directly affect a great number of residents
  • This is largely avoidable by the developer. There are multiple alternative solutions to ventilate underground premises without harming neighbours.
  • No noise assessment has ever been made at this location and all flats are pre-existent to the noise, so impact was not taken into consideration into planning.
