We would like to see a change in the legalisation and regulation on Medical Marijuana use in the United Kindom for patients suffering from certain ailments, disorders and diseases.

Reason

We believe there is enough strong global evidence to suggest that Medical Marijuana can be beneficial in various medical applications from pain relief in Cancer patients to Anxiety to Epilepsy. This can be seen in countries such as Portugal, Amsterdam and 29 out of the 50 American States, where Marijuana is seen as a public health issue and not a criminal issue. As well as having strong medical applications the legalisation and regulation of Medical Marijuana will bring in Billions in revenue for the UK taxpayer. With the current state of legislation, patients looking for the plant as an alternative treatment must go to an unlicensed, untaxed and illegal dealer. Currently, only 6% of studies on Marijuana analyse its medicinal properties. Revenues from the legalisation and regulation of Marijuana can be put towards research and development of the benefits of the plant.
