Petition is addressed to: Town Council of Ashford

Ashford currently has 2 main issues stopping the town from booming and supporting small business.
These are;

  • Access to Free Parking
  • Lack of places to safely stop for quick in and out purchases without fear of Parking Fines.

I run a small business like many others in Ashford, and we all know the struggle with starting a business/maintaining it long term. As many of us know, the town is slowly dying and its up to us to change that.
Usually we hope for the support of the locals to ensure these businesses grow, develop & thrive.
The part the council plays in this is to give businesses the tools to do so.

Reason

I propose a change to parking in Ashford.
As mentioned, the 2 areas I'd love to see some change would be

  • Free Parking for 30mins/1hr within Ashfords surrounds. This area would span from Elwick place to Regus and Lidl to Cameo. This would be council funded as an investment in Ashfords success/growth.
  • 5/10 minute stopping available up Bank Street up to the Phoenix Pub. This would allow people the ability to do quick stops in town to collect from any of the small local businesses/food establishments without fear of a parking ticket.

If we want Ashford to grow and thrive, we need change & accessiblity.

Thank you for your support, Lee Snelling from DQ, Ashford
