Subject: Urgent Petition for Immediate UN Intervention and Aid Deployment to Gaza and the West Bank
We, the undersigned, citizens of the world and defenders of human dignity and international law, call upon the United Nations to immediately act in Gaza and the West Bank, where civilians are suffering from famine, siege, displacement, and targeted attacks.
For nearly two years—and with increased severity since October 2023—the Palestinian people in Gaza have been systematically denied access to basic necessities: food, clean water, medical supplies, and shelter. Children are dying of starvation and dehydration, a tragedy that international law defines as a war crime and a crime against humanity.
We urgently demand that the United Nations fulfill its legal and moral obligations under its own Charter, mandates, and resolutions, by taking the following actions without requiring consent from the State obstructing aid:
Legal & UN-Based Justification for Immediate Aid Without Permission
The following are international laws and United Nations resolutions that the UN itself is currently failing to enforce:
· UN Charter (1945) – Articles 55 and 56
Mandates the UN to promote universal respect for, and observance of, human rights and fundamental freedoms, including the right to life, food, and health.
· Fourth Geneva Convention (1949)
- Article 55: Occupying powers are obligated to ensure food and medical supplies reach civilians.
- Article 59: If the occupying power cannot meet the population’s needs, neutral humanitarian organizations like the UN must be allowed access — with or without consent.
- Article 60: Supplies must not be diverted and must directly reach the population in need.
· UNSC Resolution 2417 (2018)
Condemns the use of starvation as a method of warfare and requires unimpeded humanitarian access.
· UNSC Resolutions 2712 (2023) and 2720 (2023)
Call for humanitarian pauses and aid access to Gaza. These have been widely ignored.
· ICESCR – Article 11
Recognizes the right to an adequate standard of living, including food, water, and medical care.
· Responsibility to Protect (R2P)
Mandates UN intervention if a state fails to prevent genocide, war crimes, or crimes against humanity.
Call to Action
We demand the following:
1. Immediate deployment of UN-protected humanitarian aid to Gaza and the West Bank, with or without the permission of Israel or any obstructing authority.
2. Establishment of protected humanitarian corridors, possibly under UN Peacekeepers or international escorts.
3. Public acknowledgment that UN resolutions are being violated by both the occupying forces and by the UN's own inaction.
4. Implementation of Resolution 2417 and the Geneva Conventions, which require legal consequences for blocking humanitarian aid.
5. Referral of all parties obstructing aid to the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity.
Ou,r Stand
We sign this petition not only for the people of Gaza and the West Bank, but for the integrity of international law and the future of global humanitarian protection. If the United Nations cannot act in the face of mass starvation and civilian slaughter, then its own existence and legitimacy are in question.
We call upon your conscience, your legal mandates, and your humanity.
In Solidarity,
We Are The People
