Our marine environments are suffering, and it's time we take effective measures. I propose implementing SeaBins in our harbors and beaches. These automated floating bins capture marine debris, including plastics and microplastics, from the water's surface, holding up to 20 kilograms of waste each.

Seabins are an affordable and efficient solution to reduce plastic waste and protect marine life.

Clean coastal areas are vital for tourism and our economy, and this initiative will enhance Malta's reputation as an environmentally responsible nation. Please support this petition to implement SeaBins and help preserve our marine environments.

Thank you for your support.

Begrundelse

Implementing SeaBins is crucial because plastic pollution is severely damaging our marine ecosystems, harming wildlife, and contaminating our food supply.
Clean, debris-free coastal areas are vital for maintaining the natural beauty that attracts tourists, supports local economies, and sustains the health of our oceans. By reducing plastic waste in our waters, we can protect marine life, improve the quality of our beaches, and demonstrate our commitment to environmental stewardship.
Supporting this petition is a step towards a cleaner, healthier future for our community and the planet.
