Sign Petition: Blomtuin Residents Demand Urgent Action On The Damaged N1 Boundary Fence

The fence is failing. The community is paying the price. The City and SANRAL must act!
We, the undersigned residents of Blomtuin, Bellville, call on SANRAL and the City of Cape Town to urgently address the damaged N1 boundary fence, which is flimsy and contains large holes. These breaches allow people to enter the neighbourhood and camp beneath the bridge, raising serious concerns about public safety, sanitation, fire hazards and the security of nearby homes.
Residents have raised recurring concerns about overnight occupation of public spaces and the conditions associated with it. The community should not have to live with a compromised boundary and a problem that continues without a lasting solution. This is not a demand to target people experiencing homelessness. It is a demand for secure infrastructure, responsible, consistent public-space management and effective action. Not a once-off operation!

Recognize self-protection during rail travel as a legitimate interest

I call for personal self-protection during onward travel to be expressly recognized as a legitimate interest for the secure transport of legally permitted self-defense items through weapons and carrying-prohibition zones under the jurisdiction of the Federal Police.
Travelers should be allowed to transport such items in a closed and secured container while they are within the restricted area, provided that they intend to carry them only after leaving the restricted area for the remainder of their journey.
This rule should apply to all self-defense items that may legally be carried outside the respective restricted area and should not be limited solely to pepper spray or animal-defense spray.

Years in Malta Should Count: Fair Long-Term Residency Rules

Petition for Fair Long-Term Residence Rules in Malta
Many people have lived and worked in Malta for more than five years. We work, pay taxes and social security contributions, raise our children and contribute to Maltese society.
However, eligibility for Long-Term Resident Status depends on immigration status. People under Temporary Protection or with asylum seeker status may not qualify, while recognised refugees may be eligible if they meet the legal requirements.
Why should our status make such a difference when we all work, pay taxes and contribute to the same country?
Another concern is the I Belong Programme. People attend integration courses, complete the programme, take part in interviews and receive certificates, believing that integration is an important step towards building a future in Malta. Yet afterwards, they may discover that their protection status makes them ineligible to apply for Long-Term Resident Status. This raises an important question: what is the purpose of encouraging integration if people still have no clear opportunity to benefit from it?
Some people with pending appeals are also legally allowed to stay and work in Malta and continue paying taxes, but the years spent in this situation may not count towards the residence period required for Long-Term Resident Status.
We understand that different protection statuses have different legal conditions. However, we ask for a fair review of the rules so that long-term residence, employment, tax contributions and genuine efforts to integrate are properly considered, regardless of previous protection status, subject to the relevant legal requirements.
We are not asking for automatic residency. We are asking for a fair opportunity to apply and have our circumstances considered.
Please support this petition and help us call for fairer Long-Term Resident Status rules for everyone who has made Malta their home.

Pause Germany's proposed CBD vape ban and review the evidence

We call on the competent German authorities to pause adoption or application of the disputed additional prohibition of cannabinoids, including CBD, in electronic cigarettes and refill containers while its scientific justification, proportionality and compatibility with EU law are reviewed. Existing binding safety requirements should remain in force.
We ask the European Parliament and European Commission to:
1. Seek a pause in the disputed additional German prohibition pending a focused review.
2. Request publication of the evidence and legal justification, explaining why differentiated safeguards would be insufficient.
3. Assess consequences for consumers and the replacement market, alongside cross-border business effects.
4. Discuss the issue transparently, involving the competent German authorities and relevant scientific bodies.
This public campaign supports the objectives of a formal petition submitted to the European Parliament on 10 October 2026. The full petition and annexes provide the detailed scientific and legal background.
By signing, I support the requests stated in this public campaign. This signature is separate from support through the European Parliament's petition portal.

European Roma Security Petition for Institutional Response to Antigypsyism

Our Problem
We are witnessing an alarming surge in hate speech and violence against Romani people in Europe at a time of diminishing Roma representation in public and political life. Meanwhile according to the 2024 EU Fundamental Rights Agency survey (https://fra.europa.eu/en/publication/2025/roma-survey-2024), the percentage of Roma reporting discrimination dropped dramatically from 16% to 6% between 2016 and 2024. Far from representing a decrease in abuse, this decline is an alarming signal for a profound loss of faith in the capacity of national authorities to protect Roma - a trend that continues into 2026.
It is striking that the European Commission and the Council of Europe still lack dedicated, high-level coordinators or special representatives to urgently address the growing discrepancy between rising anti-Roma sentiment across Europe and the inability or unwillingness of national and local authorities to adequately respond to this challenge. While both institutions have established specialized representatives on combating Antisemitism and anti-Muslim hatred, they have yet to appoint equivalent representatives dedicated to combating Antigypsyism and protecting Romani communities. Consequently, Roma activists, politicians and civil society organisations have no designated body to address at the European level, leaving them in a state of institutional limbo between European, national, and local authorities that continue to shift responsibilities among themselves.
Our Demands
Building directly upon the advocacy efforts of the Global Roma Alliance for Strategic Security (GRASS) including:
* 5 October 2026: The submission of an open letter to EU institutions by GRASS demanding urgent measures, based on collected data about securitization of the Romani communities in Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Greece, and Hungary;
* 6–7 October 2026: The presentation of this critical topic by GRASS representatives at the 22nd Meeting of the Council of Europe Dialogue with Roma and Traveller civil society in Strasbourg;
* 8 October 2026: High-level meetings initiated by GRASS representatives with officials from the European Commission in Brussels;

We are formally calling with this European Roma Security Petition initiated on 9 October 2026 for:
1. The Secretary General of the Council of Europe to appoint a dedicated Special Representative on Roma Security, tasked with monitoring, assessing, and coordinating proactive measures against rising threats and hate-fueled violence.
2. The European Commission to appoint an EU Coordinator on Combating Antigypsyism and Protecting Romani People, ensuring that incitement, online radicalization, and threats directed against the Roma community are systematically treated as critical security-relevant signals across Union mechanisms.
3. The new European Security Strategy to integrate the protection of Roma into its comprehensive long-term framework addressing internal resilience and social cohesion.
4. The EU Multiannual Financial Framework for 2028–2034 to allocate dedicated financial resources to support targeted initiatives combating Antigypsyism and safeguarding Roma security.

Don't Put Community Spirit on Hold — Let Our Post Office Decorate

LET OUR POST OFFICE SHOW ITS COMMUNITY SPIRIT!
A Petition to USPS Leadership in Support of Seasonal Decorations and Community Involvement
Small Town. Big Heart. Let Our Community Spirit Shine!
In Ashland City, Tennessee, we believe that the heart of a community is found in the people who go above and beyond to make it a welcoming, connected, and special place to live.
Last year, a dedicated United States Postal Service employee took the initiative to decorate our local post office in celebration of Halloween while also recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month through a "Pink Out" theme. What might seem like a small gesture brought smiles to residents, created a welcoming atmosphere, and demonstrated the kind of community pride we are working so hard to encourage. Unfortunately, that employee reportedly faced suspension and an investigation related to those decorations and has since been told that decorating cannot continue.
We believe that community spirit should be encouraged, not punished.
As Ashland City continues working to revitalize our downtown, support local businesses, celebrate meaningful causes, and encourage greater community involvement, we need our public institutions to be part of that positive momentum. Our post office is more than a place to mail letters and packages. It is a gathering point in our community, staffed by people who serve our residents every day. When employees voluntarily take pride in making that space welcoming, their efforts should be appreciated.
We recognize that USPS has policies and standards that must be followed. However, we respectfully ask USPS district, regional, and national leadership to reconsider restrictions that prevent tasteful, appropriate, and inclusive seasonal decorations and community-awareness displays.
By signing this petition, we respectfully request that USPS leadership:
1. Allow appropriate seasonal and holiday decorations at our local post office, subject to reasonable safety and operational guidelines.
2. Permit displays supporting recognized community causes, including Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
3. Reconsider the disciplinary response to last year's decorations and ensure employees are not unfairly penalized for approved community-building activities.
4. Work with local postal employees and community leaders to establish reasonable decorating guidelines that allow community pride to flourish.

This petition is not directed at our local postal management. We understand that these restrictions and decisions originate above the local level, and our request is directed to those with the authority to reconsider them.
We are proud of our town, proud of the people who serve it, and proud of the efforts being made to bring our community together.
A little decoration can bring a lot of joy. Please let our post office be part of what makes Ashland City special.
ADD YOUR NAME — LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!
We, the undersigned residents, business owners, and supporters of Ashland City, respectfully request that USPS leadership allow appropriate seasonal decorations and community-awareness displays at our local post office.
Let kindness, creativity, and community pride have a place in our post office!

🚨 Enough Is Enough — Fish Hoek Beachfront Needs Enforcement Of Laws

Fish Hoek Beach belongs to everyone — but public space must not become a place where laws are simply ignored.
We, the undersigned residents, ratepayers, businesses, workers and visitors to Fish Hoek, call on the City of Cape Town to urgently strengthen visible Law Enforcement and Traffic enforcement along Fish Hoek beachfront, Beach Road and surrounding public areas.
Fish Hoek is one of Cape Town's most popular beaches. But growing numbers of visitors, particularly during hot weather, weekends and holiday periods, bring increasing pressure on the beachfront and surrounding roads.
Residents and visitors have raised concerns about:
* Public drinking and drunken behaviour;
* Alcohol being consumed in prohibited public areas;
* Excessive noise and loud music;
* Public urination and inappropriate use of public spaces;
* Speeding, reckless driving and dangerous traffic behaviour;
* Illegal and obstructive parking;
* Traffic congestion around the beachfront;
* Littering and degradation of public spaces;
* Theft from vehicles and theft of unattended belongings;
* Drug-related and other anti-social behaviour;
* Disorderly or threatening conduct; and
* Insufficient visible enforcement when these problems occur.

THE BY-LAWS EXIST. ENFORCE THEM.
We are not asking the City to prevent people from enjoying Fish Hoek Beach.
We are demanding that the laws and by-laws already on the books are properly and consistently enforced. Where are the 5 Metro Police Neighbourhood Safety Officers (NSOs)? Why are they not enforcing Bylaws in Fish Hoek?
The City's own Law Enforcement mandate includes enforcement against alcohol offences, illegal parking, speeding, reckless driving, driving under the influence and general nuisances.

Gordons Bay Needs Enforcement Of Laws To Remove Criminal Elements — Before Summer Gets Worse

CITY OF CAPE TOWN NEEDS TO ENFORCE LAW & ORDER IN GORDONS BAY!
Gordon’s Bay is a coastal town — not a lawless zone.
We, the undersigned residents, ratepayers, businesses and concerned visitors to Gordon’s Bay, call on the City of Cape Town to immediately strengthen visible Law Enforcement and Traffic enforcement in Gordon’s Bay, particularly during weekends, hot-weather days and throughout the summer season.
Recent exceptionally busy weekends have shown exactly what Gordon’s Bay can expect when visitor numbers surge. Beaches and surrounding areas have become heavily congested, while residents are increasingly concerned about public drinking, alcohol on beaches, public urination, illegal fires, excessive noise, illegal parking, reckless driving, speeding, drag racing, littering, suspected illegal substance use, vehicle theft and other anti-social behaviour.
THE BY-LAWS EXIST. ENFORCE THEM.
We are not asking the City to stop people enjoying Gordon’s Bay. We are demanding that existing laws and municipal by-laws are consistently and visibly enforced.
The community is particularly concerned about:
* Drinking alcohol and drunken behaviour in public places;
* Alcohol consumption on beaches and suspected illegal alcohol sales;
* Public urination and other inappropriate use of public spaces;
* Illegal fires in prohibited areas;
* Excessive noise, amplified music, “boom boxes” and vehicle noise;
* Illegal and obstructive parking;
* Speeding, reckless driving and dangerous traffic behaviour;
* Drag racing, high-revving vehicles and motorcycles;
* Littering and public-space degradation;
* Illegal substance use and other anti-social behaviour;
* Theft from motor vehicles;
* Severe congestion around the beachfront, R44 and surrounding roads;
* Inadequate toilet facilities during peak visitor periods.

People are sick and tired of seeing SAPS and City Law Enforcement ignoring crime! Driving past a problem is not enforcement. Visibility without intervention is not enough. Where are the 5 Metro Police NSOs (Neighbourhood Safety Officers) assigned to each Ward, including Gordons Bay???

Ban Social Media for Kids

Protect Our Youth: Ban Social Media for Minors Under 16 in South Africa
(Pushing for 18)
To the Attention of:
• The Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies, South Africa
• The Parliament of the Republic of South Africa
The Petition Objective:
We, the concerned parents, guardians, and citizens of South Africa, are petitioning the government to introduce urgent legislation to ban social media access for minor children under the age of 16, and to implement strict verification laws for teenagers aged 16 to 18.
Why This Matters:
Our children are facing a silent crisis, and it is happening right in front of our eyes on their digital screens. The childhood we once knew is disappearing, and the consequences for the future of South Africa are severe.
• The Death of Physical Play: South African children don't play outside anymore. Instead of kicking a ball, exploring their neighborhoods, and engaging in healthy physical development, they are completely glued to their screens for hours every day.
• Drastic Behavioral Changes: Constant exposure to algorithmic feeds has drastically changed our children's behavior. We are seeing unprecedented rises in attention deficits, severe irritability, anxiety, and social isolation when the phone is taken away.,and the lack of Concentration.
• Toxic Influences & Harmful Content: The internet exposes developing minds to unfiltered, age-inappropriate content. Bad things are easily seen and learned daily—ranging from extreme cyberbullying and explicit adult content to dangerous viral challenges.
• Devastating Psychological Impact: The artificial algorithms are designed to addict. They push unrealistic lifestyles and toxic peer pressure, destroying our youth's self-esteem and directly harming their mental health and academic focus.
Our Demand to Government:
We demand that South African lawmakers follow international precedents and take immediate legislative action to protect our children by:
1. Imposing a strict legal ban on creating or holding social media accounts for anyone under the age of 16.
2. Enforcing strict age-verification mechanisms that social media corporations must implement to prevent minors from bypassing the law.
3. Restricting and regulating access for teens aged 16 to 18, ensuring parental consent and enhanced privacy frameworks are legally mandatory.
It is time to get our children off the screens and back outside. Sign this petition to demand that the South African government puts the mental, physical, and moral well-being of our children ahead of big tech profits.

Business Fund & Rent Assistance: I would like to see a municipal funding program and city-run concept-based tenders so that small craft businesses, cultural venues, and neighborhood shops can find affordable premises.
Clean Neighborhoods, Recycling & Waste Fairness: A phased-in requirement to switch to reusable and deposit systems. Those who generate to-go waste (kiosks, fast-food outlets, supermarkets) should be responsible for keeping their immediate surroundings (10-15 meters) clean or contribute to city cleaning costs.
Award for Genuine Sustainability: A city seal for businesses that prioritize regional products, animal welfare, honest craftsmanship, and the promotion of local apprenticeships – rewarded with discounts on city fees.
Sanitation Fee to Combat Public Urination: Businesses with high late-night and alcohol sales contribute to a sanitation fee to fund clean neighborhood restrooms and the expansion of the "Nice Toilet" initiative.
Minimum Distances Against Monocultures: Targeted urban density restrictions should be used to prevent a one-sided mix of businesses on shopping streets and create space for diversity.
Fair Work & Inspections: Strengthening honest businesses with regular apprenticeships and jobs through joint inspections by the public order office and customs (under the Act to Combat Undeclared Work) regarding minimum wage and occupational safety.
Initiative for Commercial Tenancy Protection: A Cologne initiative in the state parliament for fairer commercial tenancy law with protection against eviction and skyrocketing rents.

Community Petition for Safety, Order and Effective Law Enforcement in Strand
To: The City of Cape Town, the Mayor, City Manager and relevant Safety & Security departments.
We, the undersigned Strand residents, ratepayers, businesses, workers and visitors to Strand, call on the City of Cape Town to urgently restore safety, order and effective law enforcement along Beach Road and the surrounding beachfront.
Beach Road is a public space that must be safe and accessible to everyone!
We are not asking the City to prevent people from enjoying Strand. We are asking for the laws and by-laws that already exist to be properly enforced!
Residents and visitors are increasingly concerned about:
* Public drinking and drunken behaviour;
* Public urination and defecation;
* Fighting, intimidation and threatening behaviour;
* Excessive noise and amplified music;
* Obstruction of pavements and public spaces;
* Dangerous, illegal and obstructive parking;
* Reckless or suspected drunk driving;
* Litter and degradation of public areas; and
* No visible enforcement when these problems repeatedly occur.

These are not simply matters of inconvenience. When behaviour threatens public safety, obstructs access or contravenes the law, it must be addressed.

Change the way ESA hires and contracts.

ESA has been operating under the geo-return policy when it comes to contracting and hiring. This leads inevitably to a suboptimal performance: by geo-restricting the pool from which to choose, the best candidates for any given job or task might be cast aside even before evaluating their competences. In today's world and geopolitics, we cannot allow for suboptimal any more. We should choose the best that Europe has to offer. Hence, the way of contracting and hiring needs to change. Only the ESA member states can push that change. A serious constructive discussion about this topic is needed.
If you agree, then sign this petition and contact the ESA delegation of your state to let them know!

Save the 3 beautiful old trees in King Street Paterson

The 3 beautiful old trees in King Street Paterson are to be removed by Dungog Council this week to make it easier to resurface the road. We requested community consultation in May 2026. They didn't think this was appropriate! This goes against Transport for NSW "Water sensitive urban design guideline - Applying water sensitive urban design principles to NSW transport projects. It also goes against NSW Urban Heat policy on "retaining and expanding urban tree canopy to combat the urban heat island effect rather than removing street trees".

Request for Reconsideration of Student Suspension

Dear Members of Les Roches Marbella Management and Student Services,
We, the undersigned students of the Master’s programs at Les Roches Marbella, would like to respectfully share our concerns regarding the recent suspension of our fellow student, Miguel Torres, following an incident involving a member of the security personnel at the student residences.
First, we would like to make clear that we understand the responsibility Les Roches has to protect the safety and wellbeing of its community. We do not support violence or aggressive behaviour, regardless of the circumstances, and we understand that the School had to respond to an incident of this nature.
At the same time, we believe there is relevant context surrounding this particular situation that deserves to be considered before a final decision is maintained.
Our Concern
Prior to this incident, several students had already experienced difficult interactions with the security guard involved. Concerns had been raised among students regarding the way some situations were handled, including confrontational interactions, difficulties accessing the residences, and occasions in which students felt that situations could have been managed differently.
For this reason, we believe it would be helpful to consider the recent incident not only through what happened at the moment of the confrontation, but also through the circumstances that led to it.
We are not in a position to determine who was right or wrong, nor is that the purpose of this letter. We simply believe that the experiences and testimonies of other students may provide useful context for the School when evaluating what happened and determining the most appropriate response.
Miguel’s Contribution to Our Master’s Community
We would also like to share our experience of Miguel as a member of our Master’s community.
Throughout the program, Miguel has consistently demonstrated a cooperative and supportive attitude toward his classmates. His previous professional experience has often added value to our academic discussions, particularly when he has been able to provide practical examples or help explain concepts that were not completely clear to other students.
Beyond his academic contribution, Miguel has regularly made himself available to support classmates when academic challenges or difficulties arise. From our experience working and studying alongside him, he has shown a genuine willingness to collaborate, share his knowledge, and contribute positively to the group.
We mention this not to excuse or minimize the seriousness of the recent incident, but because we believe that a student’s overall conduct and contribution to the community can provide relevant context when considering an appropriate and proportionate response.
A Request for Reconsideration
We understand that Les Roches’ own Standards of Excellence provide mechanisms for students to raise concerns and appeal disciplinary decisions. We see this letter as a constructive contribution to that process and as an opportunity for the student community to share information that may be relevant to the School’s assessment.
More broadly, the principles that guide university coexistence in Spain encourage dialogue, mutual respect, fair consideration of the people involved, and constructive approaches to resolving conflicts. We believe these principles are aligned with the values that Les Roches promotes within its community.
With this in mind, we respectfully ask the School to reconsider the circumstances surrounding the suspension and, where possible, take into account:

* Miguel’s account of what occurred.
* Testimonies from students who witnessed the incident.
* Any available objective evidence, including security footage.
* Previous concerns or experiences reported by students regarding interactions with the security guard involved.
* The circumstances that led to the confrontation.
* Miguel’s overall conduct and positive contribution to the Master’s community.
* Whether, after considering this broader context, the current disciplinary measure remains the most appropriate response.

We are not asking the School to disregard what happened, nor are we attempting to justify inappropriate behaviour.
Our request is simply that the complete context be considered.
We believe that hearing the different perspectives involved could help the School reach a decision that protects both the standards of Les Roches and the wellbeing of its students.
Most importantly, we would like this letter to be understood as a constructive expression of concern from students who care about the community in which we study and live.
We appreciate the responsibility carried by the School when dealing with situations of this nature, and we trust that our concerns will be received in the same respectful spirit in which they are being presented.
Thank you for taking the time to consider our perspective.
Sincerely,
Students of the Master’s Programs
Les Roches Marbella

Mandate a Mental Health Therapist in Every School and College of India

2026 showed us how fragile we are. After June alone, we saw floods in Assam and Nepal, war, personal losses, and a silent mental health crisis in our classrooms.
Our students are suffering in silence — anxiety, depression, academic pressure, grief, and trauma — with nowhere to go for help.
We demand that the Ministry of Education & UGC make it mandatory for every school and college in India to have a qualified, full-time, in-house mental health therapist/counsellor.
Why is this urgent?
1. 1 in 7 young Indians faces mental health issues, but 90% of our educational institutions have no professional support.
2. Teachers are not therapists. Friends are not therapists. We need trained professionals.
3. Early intervention saves lives. A single counsellor can prevent a lifetime of trauma and even suicide.
Education is incomplete without mental well-being. If we can mandate a PT teacher and a librarian, we can mandate a mental health therapist.
This is not a luxury. It's a necessity.
Sign this petition to make mental health support a right, not a privilege, for every student in India.

To the National Prosecuting Authority and the relevant Court
We, the undersigned members and supporters of the Pacaltsdorp community, call upon the State to oppose bail for the accused persons, Jason Goeieman and Jaco Barends, in connection with the murder case concerning Charlton “Satie” Africa.
Charlton’s death has deeply affected his family, friends and the wider Pacaltsdorp community.
We understand that there are eyewitnesses and other potentially important evidence relating to the circumstances surrounding his death. We therefore ask that the interests of justice, witness protection, evidence preservation and community safety be carefully considered during the bail proceedings.
We respectfully call upon the State to:
* Oppose the granting of bail;
* Ensure that relevant evidence is properly investigated and preserved;
* Protect witnesses and the victim’s family from intimidation or interference; and
* Ensure that the concerns of the Pacaltsdorp community are properly brought to the attention of the court.

Protect Student Privacy: Call for an Independent Investigation into James Fallon High Data Breach

Sensitive student information was exposed in a data breach affecting students at James Fallon High School, including health information and personally identifiable information. Parents and students were not informed until approximately five months after the breach occurred.
We understand that cyber incidents can happen to any organisation. However, families have a right to know:
*  how this breach occurred
* what specific information was accessed
* why notification was delayed, and
* what steps are being taken to prevent a similar incident from happening again.

Many affected students trusted the school with highly personal information. Families deserve transparency, accountability and reassurance that every reasonable step has been taken to protect that information.
We are calling for an independent investigation into the breach, the handling of affected records, and the delay in notifying students and parents. We also seek a public explanation of the actions taken since the breach was discovered and the measures now in place to protect student data.
By signing this petition, you are supporting a call for answers, transparency and stronger protections for student privacy.

We, the signers of this petition, call for the elimination of AI (including LLMs and generative forms of AI) in the educational space at Austin Community College.
During the Fall 2026 General Assembly, Austin Community College, despite having multiple departments supporting the arts, including the Game Design, Animation, Motion Graphics (GDAMG), Visual Communications, and Fine Arts departments, decided to use generative AI to create videos used for the keynote presentation.
The videos are publicly accessible here:
Opening Animation (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RpnV1ffmn8)
Keynote Video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNHU_NcQRmE)

AI TRUST Framework for Austin Community College: www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4IRJaqrwGo (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4IRJaqrwGo)
Instead of employing students and alumni that have gone through the college, they used generative AI, which has negative impacts on the environment, including the contribution to increasing water scarcity and the carbon footprint.

Designate Little Yemen as a Cultural District

PETITION IN SUPPORT OF THE LITTLE YEMEN CULTURAL DISTRICT
Supporting New York State Legislation A.7033D / S.6487C
To Governor Kathy Hochul and the State of New York:
We, the undersigned residents, business owners, community members, and supporters, respectfully express our support for the recognition of Little Yemen in the Bronx as a New York State cultural district and for A.7033D / S.6487C.
Little Yemen represents an important part of the story of the Bronx and New York City. Over generations, Yemeni Americans have established homes, businesses, restaurants, houses of worship, community organizations, and cultural institutions while contributing to the economic and civic life of the surrounding neighborhood.
Recognizing Little Yemen as a cultural district is an opportunity to celebrate that history while honoring the diversity that has always made the Bronx special.
This designation is about recognition, not exclusion.
Little Yemen is, and will continue to be, home to people of many different backgrounds, cultures, faiths, and nationalities. Recognizing the Yemeni American heritage of this area does not erase, replace, or diminish the history or contributions of any other community.
Rather, cultural recognition allows New York to celebrate the many communities whose individual stories together make our city and state what they are today.
We support the Little Yemen Cultural District because:
- It recognizes history. Yemeni Americans have established deep roots in the Bronx and have become an important part of the social, cultural, civic, and economic fabric of the community.
- It celebrates cultural heritage. Yemeni restaurants, cafés, markets, businesses, houses of worship, cultural traditions, community organizations, and public events have helped create a distinct cultural presence in this part of the Bronx.
- It supports a diverse neighborhood. Little Yemen does not belong exclusively to one group. The neighborhood is shared by people from many backgrounds, and the cultural district can celebrate Yemeni heritage while continuing to welcome and respect everyone who lives, works, worships, visits, or operates a business here.
- It recognizes economic contributions. Yemeni American entrepreneurs and families have invested in local commercial corridors, opened and maintained small businesses, created employment opportunities, and contributed to the vitality of the neighborhood.
- It helps preserve cultural history for future generations. Cultural districts can help ensure that the history and traditions that shaped a neighborhood are documented, remembered, celebrated, and passed on to future generations.
- It can strengthen cultural institutions. The legislation places Little Yemen within the state's framework for regions of cultural significance, through which the New York State Council on the Arts may provide cultural institutions with grants, technical assistance, or other authorized assistance.
- It can encourage cultural education and exchange. Recognizing Little Yemen gives residents and visitors an opportunity to learn about Yemeni history, food, traditions, businesses, and the Yemeni American experience.
- It reflects New York's tradition of celebrating its communities. New York's identity has been shaped by generations of immigrant and ethnic communities whose neighborhoods have become part of the history and character of our state.
The New York State Legislature has already acted on this proposal. A.7033D passed the New York State Assembly and Senate, with the Senate passing the measure on April 1, 2026.
We recognize and respect that residents may have different opinions about the designation. We believe those differences should be met through dialogue, accurate information, and mutual respect.
Supporting Little Yemen does not mean changing who is welcome in this neighborhood.
It does not diminish the contributions of Italian, Albanian, Hispanic, African American, Arab, Asian, Jewish, Muslim, Christian, or any other communities that have contributed to this area.
It simply recognizes that the Yemeni American community has become an important part of the Bronx's continuing story and that this history deserves to be recognized and preserved alongside the histories of the many communities that came before it and those that will come after it.

We want Mr. Gibbs to be able to keep his position at Evans high school and support University high school get their director back. We’re asking for support and for the people to reach out about this unfair matter.
He wanted to rebuild and grow our choir program. He wanted to bring more students through our doors, take us to competitions, create opportunities to travel to places like New Orleans and Tallahassee, provide us with new choir robes to replace our old dresses, and build a program that students could be proud to belong to.
But more than anything, he wanted to pour into us.
He saw choir as more than just a class. He saw the students behind the music. He wanted to encourage us, guide us, challenge us, and help us become better singers, performers, students, and people. Then, only one months after moving his life from Tallahassee to Orlando for this opportunity, everything changed.
Because of his status as a first-year teacher and district budget cuts, Mr. Gibbs is being pushed out of his position and replaced by another teacher who is also being pushed out of their position at University High School.
Now, University High School is fighting to get their teacher back, while at Evans High School are fighting to keep ours.

Ask Hutt City Council to reconsider the creation of Special Character Areas

I've lived in Woburn for 37 years, and I've witnessed first hand the unique blend of architectural styles, landscapes, and community spirit that makes our neighborhood truly exceptional. For those of us who cherish the charm and character of Woburn, it’s heart-wrenching to see our beloved area under threat from development projects that do not respect its unique heritage and character. That’s why it’s crucial we take action now to protect what makes Woburn special and ensure its legacy is preserved for future generations.
In recent years, rapid development has started to overshadow the distinct charm of our neighborhood. The character of Woburn is embodied in its historic homes, tree-lined streets, and the close-knit community where everyone knows their neighbors. These are qualities worth preserving. Unfortunately, without classification as a 'Special Character Area', these intrinsic attributes are at risk of being lost.
Currently, Woburn does not receive the necessary protections that a 'Special Character Area' designation would provide. This designation will help maintain the traditional streetscape, limit inappropriate developments, and ensure that any new projects reflect the historical and architectural value that our community cherishes. It will provide guidelines and careful oversight to those seeking to build or modify structures in the area, safeguarding our unique identity.
Research by experts in urban development shows that neighborhoods with such protections not only preserve their cultural heritage but also benefit economically. According to a study by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust, properties in heritage areas tend to have higher property values and attract more tourism and business opportunities, offering both economic and cultural advantages to their communities.
We are calling on the Hutt City Council to listen to our concerns and recognize the arguments for designating Woburn as a 'Special Character Area'. This is not just about preserving old buildings—it's about maintaining the cultural integrity and social fabric of our beloved neighborhood.
Please join me in urging the Hutt City Council to consider our proposal seriously and take the necessary steps to protect Woburn's unique character. Let’s ensure our neighborhood remains the vibrant and historic community we know and love.
Sign this petition and help us safeguard Woburn’s future.

Stop the development of the nearly 100-home development on City of Ames West Side

Stop the Hunziker building of the 100-home development. As a local resident, I am deeply concerned about the negative impacts this will bring to our neighborhood. Our existing infrastructure and local roads are not built to absorb this level of intense expansion, as well as the great loss of open space that is rarely seen these days and the wildlife that inhabits it.

* Increased Traffic: Adding over a hundred new housing units at this intersection will cause severe traffic congestion and create safety hazards on Ontario Street and Scholl Road, which already experience steady neighborhood use.
* Overcrowding & Population Density: This sudden influx of new residents and extra housing units is completely out of character with the established, peaceful density of the surrounding area.
* Overburdened Neighborhood: Our local streets and neighborhood footprint should not be overwhelmed by this type of high-density project.

We are asking the cemetery trust to support and permit the headstone designed by Dean Carter’s sons to be placed as their father’s permanent memorial.
Dean’s sons personally designed the headstone as a tribute to their father and to reflect the relationship, memories and love they shared with him. We believe their involvement in creating their father’s memorial should be respected and given genuine consideration.
The purpose of this petition is to demonstrate that Dean’s family members and loved ones support the headstone designed by his sons and wish for that memorial to be used to honour Dean at his final resting place.
We respectfully ask the cemetery trust to consider the wishes of Dean’s sons and the wider family and to support the proposed headstone as Dean Carter’s lasting memorial.

Keep our Associate Choir Director at UHS!

Our associate choir director has been a loving, attentive and successful teacher since the day she started at UHS. When we found out that we were getting two new vocal teachers, we were all so nervous but her and our other choir director filled those shoes with such grace.
Since the very beginning she has been such a light in not just her own program as the vocal teacher but the performing arts as a whole. When our theatre teacher asked her to help teach the musical theatre class that our former vocal teacher taught alongside him; she volunteered with no hesitation. After losing two different sponsors for Tri-M Music Honor Society within 6 months of each other, she took over as our sponsor without a second thought. She has always prioritized our success as students.
She is such a determined person that has flourished so much while working here. In their first year together, our advanced choir received a superior with distinction for the first time in a decade. She started our new Acapella group simply because we had mentioned it to her and she had so much faith in us.
She is such a vital part of our performing arts program which is constantly growing. We need your help to keep our incredible teacher, no matter how long she’s been here, but rather for how much she has done for us.

Secure Blackheath Train Station — Protect Our Community Now

To: PRASA / Metrorail
South African Police Service
City of Cape Town
Western Cape Government
We, the undersigned residents, property owners, businesses and concerned members of Blackheath and Ward 14, call for urgent action to address serious security concerns at and around Blackheath Train Station.
The station and surrounding railway area appear to have inadequate perimeter fencing and uncontrolled access, creating opportunities for people to move between the railway environment and neighbouring residential areas without effective monitoring.
Residents are increasingly concerned about housebreaking, theft, robbery and other criminal activity, as well as the impact of these security vulnerabilities on our families, homes and quality of life.
The wider Mfuleni SAPS precinct, which includes Blackheath, recorded 9,629 reported crimes during April 2025–March 2026, including 511 residential burglaries and 1,124 aggravated robberies. While these figures apply to the entire precinct and not specifically to Blackheath Station, they underline the seriousness of the broader security environment.

By introducing a social media ban for under-16s, Malta can create a safer online environment, protect children's wellbeing, and ensure that technology supports healthy development rather than harming it.
Social media platforms should verify users' ages and prevent children under 16 from creating accounts. Companies that fail to enforce the law should face penalties. This will help protect young people from online harm, cyberbullying, and addiction while supporting their mental wellbeing and education.

Stop government funding for white label hearing aids

Large, overseas-owned corporate audiology chains are increasingly utilizing "white-label" (proprietary or re-branded) hearing aids. These devices are locked to the specific software of that corporate chain. This practice deliberately strips away consumer freedom, stifles fair competition, and directly impacts small, independent Kiwi businesses.
Given that an estimated 90% of these consumers utilize public funding—such as the Health NZ Hearing Aid Subsidy Scheme, Full Funding hearing aid scheme, ACC, or Veterans' Affairs New Zealand (VANZ)—we believe urgent policy intervention is required to protect both public funds and consumer rights.

Remove Route 5 From the I‑14 Corridor Plan in Cameron, Texas

Route 5 is one of the proposed paths for the I‑14 corridor, and it would cut directly through established homes, family land, and a growing subdivision in Cameron. Many of us have lived here for years. Some families have been on this land for generations. This route would force people out of their homes, damage property values, and break apart a community that is already built and thriving.
Our neighborhood is not empty land. It is full of families, children, pets, and people who have worked hard to build their lives here. Route 5 would destroy houses, split properties, and create noise and traffic where people currently live in peace. There are other route options that do not harm existing homes or subdivisions.
We are asking TxDOT to remove Route 5 from consideration. Cameron deserves a route that supports growth without destroying the homes and land of the people who already live here. We want TxDOT to choose an option that protects our community, our safety, and our future.
By signing this petition, you are standing with the families who would be directly affected. You are helping protect Cameron from unnecessary damage. Your voice matters, and together we can make sure Route 5 is taken off the table.

Petition to have the Lu Yu sculture moved into the Chinese Gardens (in Santa Lucia)

Summary: Maltese Culture and Heritage should be respected. The massive sculpture of Lu Yu, currently prominently displayed in the main square and first-point of entry into the region, disrespects historic Marsascala (having historic Phoenician and Roman origins, not Chinese) and disrespects the traditional Maltese fishermen and villagers who are associated with this region. Marsascala remained a tiny fishing port until the advent of the second World War and originally had approximately 50 residents. The Lu Yu sculpture is more appropriate in the Chinese Gardens, located in Santa Lucia.
Details:
In July 2026, the massive 'Lu Yu Silk Road Tea Break' bronze statue was erected in the main square of Marsaskala.
This statue commemorates Lu Yu, a Tang Dynasty Chinese scholar .
It is a massive bronze sculpture which occupies a prominent place in the square, just opposite the Parish church and is located in the first point of entry Into Mskala from the neighboring town of Zabbar.
Mskala was established in the early 1900s and has historically been a fishing port and 🎣 village . The original resident population only consisted of approximately some 50 residents , although it has grown now exponentially.
-Monuments all around Malta villages and towns traditionally honor local historical prominent figures and/or figures associated with the region and/or culture.
-It would be more appropriate to erect a monument in this square honoring and recognizing traditional Maltese fishermen and/or a historical regional figure.
The Lu Yu statue is out of place, has nothing to do with M'skala or the Maltese culture, and it is more suitable in the Chinese Gardens located in Santa Lucia.
The signers of this petition request that this Lu Yu sculpture be more appropriately re-positioned into the Chinese Gardens.

Reclaim Blouberg's Public Spaces - Keep Our Public Spaces Public

If you live in, work in, cycle through, walk through or regularly visit Blouberg — this affects you!
We, the undersigned residents, ratepayers, businesses, cyclists, pedestrians and visitors to Blouberg, call on the City of Cape Town to take decisive and lasting action to address the ongoing occupation and misuse of public open spaces along the Blouberg beachfront and the R27 West Coast Road corridor between Blaauwberg Road and Big Bay Boulevard.
For years, residents have reported people roughsleeping or living in makeshift shelters and occupying public spaces, while the cycle lane and pedestrian areas along the R27 have been obstructed and made difficult or intimidating to use. Residents and road users have also raised concerns about abusive, aggressive, intoxicated and disruptive behaviour, public drinking and drug use, litter, human waste, safety and the degradation of areas that are supposed to be available to everyone. The City has conducted Law Enforcement interventions before — but the problem repeatedly returns. Moving people from one location to another is not a solution.
We recognise that homelessness is a serious social issue and that people living on the streets must be treated humanely and with dignity. But compassion cannot mean surrendering public spaces. Cyclists should be able to use the cycle lane. Families should be able to enjoy the beachfront. Those using wheelchairs should be able to use the beachfront pedestrain ramp. Residents should be able to walk safely. Children should be able to use public spaces without intimidation. Businesses should be able to operate in a safe environment. We therefore demand a coordinated, lawful and long-term solution — not another temporary clean-up followed by another return of the problem. Enforce the Bylaws and the PIE Act, where applicable. The Baxter Eviction case is an example of what we expect for public open spaces!

Stop Increases to ANU Campus Rent

The Australian National University has announced it will be increasing rent for on-campus housing by an average of 4.7%.
This exceeds the CPI Index of 3.5% (actual inflation rate) and will force many ANU residents to move off-campus, as well as failing to provide incoming students with an affordable place to stay.
By signing the petition, we can show the ANU that we will not tolerate these senseless price rises, especially without transparency regarding how the rent is determined.
Sign to put limits on rent increases. Sign to show an interest in unionising as ANU residents. Sign to show support for a home away from home (even if you’re not a current on-campus resident).

Make TEAS provide records and improve response times!

TEAS, Inc is a public/private joint venture non-profit corporation that exists to run Tippecanoe County's primary emergency ambulance service. Its members are Tippecanoe County, City of Lafayette, City of West Lafayette, Franciscan Lafayette, and IU Health Lafayette.
The standard for Advanced Life Support (ALS) response is to arrive on scene within 8 minutes, 90% of the time. Analysis of dispatch data shows there's not a single town, city, or township in Tippecanoe county where TEAS achieves this standard. See dispatch data here: https://public.tableau.com/app/profile/justin.kendall2389/viz/TEAS_Dispatch/Map (https://public.tableau.com/app/profile/justin.kendall2389/viz/TEAS_Dispatch/Map)
During months of investigation, outlined at justinonthewabash.com/teas (https://justinonthewabash.com/teas), it has been found that there are several items outlined in state law and the corporation's bylaws that it must do for the government units that make up its members. Public records requests have confirmed that none of the government units possess any of the following items:

* Board of Directors Meeting Minutes, showing operational decisions that are made.
* Operational reports.
* Financial reports.
* A yearly audit of Franciscan Alliance's "TEAS" business unit, which operates the ambulance service on behalf of the TEAS, Inc corporation.

These items do not exist in their possession because by all accounts, TEAS, Inc is not holding member meetings, which are required by State law.
In July, a formal complaint was filed for this non-compliance with state law to the Indiana Attorney General's office. The complaint is currently under review, and its details can be found here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1uln18Gm6UJCRXdv1KLh_-4h4g6WU7ndO&usp=drive_fs (https://drive.google.com/open?id=1uln18Gm6UJCRXdv1KLh_-4h4g6WU7ndO&usp=drive_fs)
Repeated attempts to work with county and city officials to enforce their legal agreement with TEAS have lead nowhere.

Turn SCI Rockview into a Pennsylvania State Park

It has been over a year since the state announced that it would be closing SCI Rockview, putting into question the fate of thousands of acres. At more than 5,700 acres (slightly smaller than Bald Eagle State Park), the Rockview property is the largest in the Pennsylvania state prison system - and what happens to the land matters to all of us.
Turning SCI Rockview into a state park would protect the property from private development while preserving the Spring Creek Watershed, along with creating more opportunities for outdoor recreation in the Central Pennsylvania region.
If elected, I (John Zangari) intend to introduce a bill in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives that will turn the SCI Rockview property into a state park. The process of creating a state park involves evaluating the needs of stakeholders, so this will both ensure that everyone gets a say about what they need (such as SCI Benner Township needing to retain their property) and preserve the rest of the land as a state park.

Petition For No-Parking Zone On Vista Linda Drive Along Dangerous Blind Curve!

We, the undersigned residents and community members, respectfully request that the City of Mill Valley install No Parking signs on both sides of Vista Linda Drive along the stretch between approximately 340 and 360 Vista Linda Drive, encompassing the blind curve at that location.
The curve between approximately 340 and 360 Vista Linda Drive presents a significant and foreseeable traffic and
pedestrian safety hazard. The combination of the sharp, blind curve, limited sight distance, roadway width, vegetation, pedestrians, and vehicles parked along the roadway creates a situation in which drivers and pedestrians may encounter one another with insufficient warning.
The problem is not limited to one particular parked vehicle. Multiple vehicles routinely park on alternating sides of the roadway around this curve. Even when a parked vehicle leaves the minimum roadway clearance required by the City, its presence can still obstruct sight lines and create a dangerous conflict between vehicles, pedestrians, bicyclists, and other road users approaching from opposite directions.
The City has acknowledged that sight distance is an issue and has indicated that vegetation will be
trimmed to improve visibility. We appreciate that action. However, improving sight lines alone does not
eliminate the hazard created by vehicles parking within the blind curve.
No-parking restrictions already exist farther downhill on Vista Linda Drive, beginning near the fork with
Sheridan Road and continuing through a section of the roadway which is wider and features a less severe curve.The stretch between approximately 340 and 360 Vista Linda Drive presents a compelling case for similar restrictions because the curve is sharper and visibility is significantly more limited.
Importantly, the requested parking restriction would not deprive residents of necessary residential parking. All homes in this area have driveways, and the requested No Parking zone would be limited to the portion of the roadway where roadside parking creates the greatest safety concern.
The City has stated that the roadway is approximately 20 feet wide and that a vehicle may legally park
there if at least 11 feet of roadway clearance remains. We recognize the City's analysis concerning
minimum roadway clearance and emergency vehicle access. However, roadway clearance and sight
distance are separate safety considerations. A vehicle can leave sufficient physical clearance for another vehicle to pass while nevertheless creating a dangerous obstruction to a driver's line of sight around a blind curve. The fact that a vehicle may technically leave 11 feet of clearance does not mean that parking at that particular location is safe or appropriate.
The City's own response recognizes the importance of sight distance by requiring vegetation to be
trimmed and by stating that Public Works will continue to monitor roadway safety at this location. A permanent No Parking restriction would address the second component of the problem
directly: preventing vehicles from becoming additional obstacles within an already constrained sight line.
Installing No Parking signs on both sides of the roadway along the blind curve would:
* Improve visibility around the blind curve;
* Reduce the likelihood of head-on and sideswipe collisions;
* Give drivers and pedestrians additional reaction time;
* Reduce conflicts caused by vehicles approaching one another around the curve;
* Improve pedestrian safety;
* Complement the City's planned vegetation trimming;
* Provide a clear and enforceable rule for drivers; and
* Establish a consistent safety standard comparable to the existing No Parking restrictions farther downhill on Vista Linda Drive.

Do Not Ban Dogs from Herzlia Sports Ground

What is happening?
From 1 October 2026, dogs will no longer be permitted at Herzlia Sports Ground following changes announced by the City of Cape Town.
For many years, this field has been more than simply a sports ground. It has also been a much loved open space for the surrounding community, used by residents for walking, running, recreation and exercising their dogs. For local dog owners, it provides a large, enclosed green space where dogs can exercise safely away from busy surrounding roads. Your original petition makes this same point about the field's longstanding community use.
We understand that the field needs to be properly maintained and that United Herzlia Schools has legitimate sporting, safety and operational needs. We also fully support responsible dog ownership. Dog owners should clean up after their dogs, keep them under effective control and respect the grounds and other people using them.
What we do not believe is fair is that the actions of a minority of irresponsible dog owners should result in a blanket ban for everyone.
There are better and more balanced ways to address these concerns. Rules can be properly enforced, irresponsible users can be held accountable, and measures can be put in place to protect the playing surface and irrigation without excluding responsible dog owners altogether. This is also the approach proposed in the written petition.
What are we asking for?
We are not asking to interfere with organised school sport or the legitimate use of the field by United Herzlia Schools.
We are simply asking the City of Cape Town to reconsider the blanket ban on dogs and find a fair and workable solution that allows responsible community dog walking to continue while protecting the field and respecting everyone who uses it.
The City received approximately 850 submissions during the 2026 public participation process concerning proposed changes to access at this field, showing just how important its future is to the surrounding community.
If you believe responsible dog owners should continue to have access to Herzlia Sports Ground, please add your name to this petition.
Responsible dog owners should not all be excluded because of the actions of a few.

We, the undersigned residents, community organisations, and activists of Firgrove and the surrounding areas, hereby submit this formal petition to the City of Cape Town. We act collectively as the Firgrove Housing Action Committee (FHAC) because we can no longer stand by while our community is overlooked and mistreated.
As the Executive Mayor, you serve as the political head of the municipality and the ultimate executive authority over all spheres of the Municipality therefore, we address this petition directly to your office to demand accountability, transparency, and urgent action regarding the systemic failures affecting our community.
We have drafted this petition to highlight the urgent grievances of our community and to demand corrective action. The current situation represents a failure of governance and a violation of the constitutional rights of our residents to economic inclusion, adequate housing and dignity. We call on you to step in and fix what is broken. We are calling on you personally to hear our story and to act.

Reopen the Pedestrian and Cycle Path Under the Nordtangenten Bridge in Haßfurt

Safe. Transparent. And finally, a clear perspective.
The closure of the Nordtangenten Bridge and the pedestrian and cycle path underneath it affects numerous people in Haßfurt every day.
We understand that the safety of the public must come first. At the same time, we are calling for a solution that is understandable, transparent, and proportionate.
WE DEMAND:
1. A binding timeline
for the next steps, particularly the demolition and reconstruction of the bridge.
2. Transparent information
about the condition of the bridge, the investigations carried out so far, and the measures that are planned.
3. Regular information for local residents
about the progress of the planning process and the reconstruction.
4. A professional assessment of whether the pedestrian and cycle path underneath the bridge can be reopened
– of course, only if an independent professional assessment determines that this can be done safely, potentially with appropriate additional protective measures.
5. A clear and understandable justification for the closure measures
and clear communication about the specific risks involved and what measures are being taken to address them.
OUR DEMAND IS CLEAR:
We do not want to take unnecessary risks. But we also do not want a permanent closure without a clear perspective for reopening.
Residents and affected local businesses need safety, transparency, and a swift solution.
That is what we are campaigning for.
SIGNATURES
By signing this petition, I support the demands listed above and ask the responsible authorities of the City of Haßfurt to review these concerns and to keep the public transparently informed about the next steps.

Stop Exmo_20! 700 houses proposed on land at St John’s, Exmouth

We, the undersigned, object to the proposal to build houses on agricultural land at St John’s, Exmouth, identified by East Devon District Council (EDDC) as Exmo_20, and ask that this site is removed from the draft local plan and not considered for development.
Exmouth has already seen a significant number of new housing developments and retirement apartments. Developments appear to be aimed at rental companies and people migrating into the area, rather than affordable homes for local people. The town has suffered serious issues with sewage attributed to South West Water. Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton lack the necessary infrastructure in terms of emergency services, schools, doctors and dentists, etc., to support a further increase in population. Furthermore, access to the town is restricted on two sides by water, and another side by the SSSI Pebblebed Heaths. The single A road, and alternative B roads, into the town are in our point of view constantly working at full capacity (if not above). The town is also a popular tourist destination which means that population and traffic is significantly increased not only during holiday periods, but also at weekends.
There are a number of additional reasons why this site in particular (Exmo_20) is entirely unsuitable for development (see bullet points below).
Please sign, support and share this petition.

No more drug use at Sendlinger Tor and the surrounding area!

How much longer will we look the other way?
In my point of view, it is no longer acceptable for families, residents, and visitors at Sendlinger Tor and in the surrounding streets to be confronted daily with public drug use, drug dealing, discarded syringes, alcohol consumption starting early in the morning, violence, and aggressive behavior. Many residents no longer feel safe and have personally experienced distressing or threatening situations.
We want to feel safe in our neighborhood again.
That is why we are collecting signatures to call upon the City of Munich and the police to step up patrols, take consistent action against public drug use and drug dealing, and implement effective measures to make our neighborhood safe and livable once more.
If you support this demand, we would appreciate your signature. Every voice counts.

Ban ALPR Cameras From UMBC

Flock cameras have recently been installed on UMBC campus without any notice to the staff or students attending. These cameras allow massive amounts of data to be collected on the location and routines of all UMBC staff, students, and visitors. This is a tool of mass surveillance which violates our right to privacy, and it was implemented without the consent or even knowledge of those it impacts. These cameras should be removed and no such devices should be erected in the future.
Results of this petition will be shared with President Sheares Ashby as evidence that the UMBC community opposes these cameras and wants for them to be removed.

Outlaw the sale of deadly synthetic drugs in Clermont!

Clermont is a wonderful city where families can grow and where elite athletes can come and train. In my opinion, Clermont is currently suffering from an infestation of legal drug dealers who are pushing their deadly, addictive drugs on our friends and neighbors. There are currently 12 smoke shops in Clermont and 11 gas stations that sell deadly synthetic drugs like kratom to our friends and neighbors. Clermont currently has no ordinances to protect us from these predatory businesses. These businesses operate with essentially no oversight and are frequently associated with organized crime, illegal drug trafficking and money laundering. Our local government can act to put restrictions on these stores to protect our community.

More Legroom on Airplanes: Fair Seating for Tall People - Height should not be an upgrade!

We call on the Federal Association of the German Aviation Industry (BDL) and its member airlines to introduce fair and uniform regulations for passengers of particularly tall stature.
People who are, for example, 1.90 meters or taller should be able to receive seats with significantly more legroom—if available on the respective aircraft—without having to pay the usual extra-legroom surcharge.
Anyone with long legs knows the problem: Even in the normal seating position, their knees bump against the seat in front or don’t even fit behind it. If the seat in front is reclined, the already limited space becomes even smaller. It’s nearly impossible to move your legs or adjust your seating position.
We’re not asking for free business class or luxury at the expense of other passengers. We’re simply asking that people no longer have to pay extra just because their legs require more space due to their unchangeable height.
Specifically, this means:
For a seat with the necessary additional legroom, no more than the fee for a standard seat reservation may be charged.
For each flight, an appropriate number of seats with extra legroom should be reserved for particularly tall passengers.
Unused seats can, for example, be sold again at the regular rate 48 hours before departure.
Eligibility should be easily verifiable based on the height listed on the passenger’s ID—without the need for medical certificates or red tape.
Seats at emergency exits may, of course, only be assigned if all safety requirements are met.
Where possible, other seats with greater seat pitch or extra knee room should therefore also be included.
The policy and requirements must be clearly visible during the booking process.
Height Should Not Be a Financial Disadvantage
A person who is two meters tall already pays the same price for a flight ticket as all other passengers. Why should they have to pay extra just so their legs can fit comfortably between two rows of seats?
Of course, we accept that airlines sell comfort services: priority boarding, lounge access, special meals, empty adjacent seats, or particularly exclusive seating can all be premium products.
But a seating position that is physically necessary should not be a premium product.
There is a simple principle behind this: For some, legroom is an added comfort. For very tall people, it is simply a normal space requirement.
Freedom of movement is also relevant to health
On longer trips, a lack of movement is not entirely insignificant. As part of its WRIGHT project, the WHO found that sitting motionless for long periods while traveling can be associated with an increased risk of venous thromboembolism. In the data analyzed, height was among the factors associated with an increased travel-related risk.
Safety at emergency exits naturally takes precedence
This petition expressly does not call for an exception to safety regulations. Special requirements apply to seats at emergency exits. Passengers seated there must be physically capable, in the event of an emergency, of following the crew’s instructions and assisting with an evacuation.
These rules must remain in full effect. Therefore, the solution should not be limited exclusively to emergency exit seats. Depending on the aircraft, for example, other extra-legroom rows or suitable seats could be included in the regulation.
The solution is also economically feasible
Our request does not mean that airlines have to retrofit their entire fleet.
The seats in question already exist.
One practical solution, for example, would be to reserve a limited number of existing extra-legroom seats for particularly tall passengers up to 48 hours before departure. If these seats are not needed, they are then made available for regular sale again.
It’s a matter of fairness
No one should be penalized for their height.
Tall people don’t pay less for their tickets. However, due to their anatomy, they need more space to be able to enjoy the same flight in a reasonably comparable way.
That is why we appeal to the Lufthansa Group, Eurowings, Condor, TUIfly, and the entire aviation industry:
Don’t turn necessary legroom into a luxury item.
Introduce a fair policy for particularly tall passengers.
Height is not an upgrade.
If you are tall yourself, know someone who faces this problem on nearly every flight, or simply believe that unchangeable physical characteristics should not result in additional fees: Please sign and share this petition.

Ouverture D'enquête Sur Algérie Ferries

Dear Sir or Madam,
I have the honor of submitting this urgent report and appeal to the highest authorities of the country regarding the situation within the National Maritime Passenger Transport Company, which has become a serious concern requiring urgent intervention and an impartial investigation.This company is a strategic national public entity. Its resources, equipment, and vessels belong to the Algerian State and people. Its management must therefore be based on respect for the law, transparency, competence, accountability, and compliance with the instructions of the highest authorities.
However, practices and shortcomings observed within certain departments raise serious questions regarding management methods and compliance with official directives. Information, documents, and testimonies can be provided to the competent authorities to clarify these concerns. More seriously, many employees have the impression that certain individuals are acting as though the company were their private property, prioritizing personal interests and relationships over the law and the principles of sound institutional management. If an investigation confirms that certain individuals have coordinated to protect their interests, circumvent official instructions, or exclude qualified personnel, these matters should not be treated as simple administrative errors. Responsibilities must be identified and appropriate legal measures taken.
The instructions of the President of the Republic and the highest authorities of the country cannot be selectively applied by local officials. No official within a public company may act as though they are above the law or above the directives of the State.If it is established that officials or internal parties have deliberately ignored or failed to implement instructions issued by the highest authorities, this would constitute a serious matter requiring investigation and accountability, since the company operates under the authority of the State.
Continued poor management could lead to deterioration of vessels and equipment, risks to the safety of passengers and employees, exclusion of qualified personnel and favoritism, a weakening of the company in the face of foreign competition, damage to Algeria’s image among passengers and the Algerian community abroad, and waste of the resources of a national company that should be a leading force in maritime transportation.We therefore ask the competent authorities who bears responsibility for bringing the company to this situation and who is protecting those whose responsibility may be established by an investigation if these allegations are confirmed.We respectfully request that the President of the Republic, the highest authorities, and the competent oversight bodies urgently open a comprehensive and independent investigation into the company’s management, examine compliance with official instructions, audit recruitment, appointments, and assignment procedures, and investigate maintenance, equipment, and related expenditures.
We also request that employees who possess relevant information or documents be heard and protected from retaliation, pressure, or intimidation, and that the administrative and legal responsibility of anyone whose involvement in violations is proven be established.If the investigation confirms the existence of any group or network of interests improperly influencing the company, appropriate measures should be taken to end such practices and restore confidence in qualified employees working for the protection and development of the company.Mr. President of the Republic, workers and passengers do not want to see a national company disappear; they want to see it saved and strengthened.It is no longer possible to remain silent in the face of practices that may weaken a strategic public company or place it under the influence of private interests.
The Algerian State has laws, institutions, and oversight bodies capable of establishing the truth. We ask only for an impartial investigation, the hearing of all concerned parties, a thorough examination of documents and evidence, and accountability for anyone whose responsibility is established, without exception.The National Maritime Passenger Transport Company belongs to the State and the Algerian people, not to any individual or group.Silence in the face of confirmed dysfunctions will only worsen the situation. We therefore appeal to the highest authorities of the country for urgent intervention before the situation reaches a point that becomes difficult to remedy.We want a strong, transparent, and ethical national company, governed by law and competence, respectful of State instructions, and committed to protecting passengers, employees, and the assets of the Algerian people.Please accept the expression of our deepest respect and highest consideration.
— Meli NESS

Fair Property Sharing Sweden - A citizen initiative for a faster, legally secure and financially secure

Fairer and Faster Property Division in Sweden
We demand a modernization of the rules governing property division in order to shorten processing times, reduce costs and strengthen legal certainty – particularly for the financially weaker party and children.
1. Six months – no extension
As a general rule, a property division should be completed within six months. The time limit should be clear and should not be extendable because one party deliberately delays the process.
2. Restored legal aid and property division support
Restore legal aid and introduce specific property division support with cost caps and fixed fees for standardized procedures, financed by the state. A person’s financial circumstances should not determine their ability to protect their legal rights.
3. Certified property division administrators and legal representatives
Introduce certification for property division administrators and legal representatives, mandatory written information to clients about their rights and obligations, and clear ethical rules preventing undue pressure to accept a settlement.
4. More efficient access to information and disclosure obligations
Strengthen the obligation to disclose information and the ability to obtain necessary information in a timely manner. Banks and the Swedish Tax Agency should, when necessary for the property division, be able to provide information despite confidentiality rules. This could, for example, be handled through the Swedish Enforcement Authority.
5. Independent review of decisions by property division administrators
Decisions made by property division administrators should be subject to review and approval through an independent oversight function. The Swedish National Audit Office could be given an overarching supervisory and auditing role to ensure legally secure and consistent application of the rules.
6. Clear rules and consideration of children and gender equality
Introduce codified and fair rules regarding compensation for the use of jointly owned property, prevent forum shopping, and ensure that the consequences for children and gender equality are considered at every stage of the process.
Overall, these reforms should shorten processing times, reduce costs and strengthen legal certainty for the financially weaker party and for children.

Community Petition Regarding Roaming Pit Bull-Type Dogs And Public Safety Concerns

Residents of High Street, Kariega and surrounding areas have submitted a petition to the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality and relevant authorities regarding several pit bull-type dogs belonging to a resident at 22 High Street, Kariega.
The residents allege that the dogs are frequently allowed to roam freely in public areas without proper supervision or confinement. According to the petition, the dogs have created fear in the community and have reportedly threatened and attacked residents and other animals.
The main concerns raised are the safety of children, elderly and vulnerable residents, the risk of serious dog-bite injuries, danger to pets and livestock, and residents being unable to safely use public streets, parks and open spaces. The petition also states that notices have previously been served on the owner, but the problem has continued.
The residents are requesting immediate intervention by the authorities, including the removal of the dogs from the owner's care. They further request stronger legal action, including a court order for the removal and, if necessary, euthanasia of dogs considered aggressive, in order to protect the safety and well-being of the community. The petition also raises concerns that victims of dog attacks have been unable to obtain compensation for their injuries and loss of income.
The petition is supported by community members through their names, addresses, contact numbers and signatures.

Petition for Free Student Parking at USEK

We, the students of the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik, respectfully submit this petition requesting the removal of parking fees for enrolled students.
For many students, having access to a vehicle is not a luxury but a necessity. Students commute from different areas of Lebanon, often travel long distances to attend classes, and may remain on campus for extended hours because of classes, rehearsals, projects, extracurricular activities, and university events. For many of us, reliable public transportation is not always available or practical.
In addition to tuition and the various academic and university related expenses students already undertake, recurring parking fees create an additional financial burden. Paying for parking every day throughout an academic semester can accumulate into a significant amount, particularly for students who are required to be on campus several days a week.
We believe that students who are already paying tuition to attend USEK should be provided with free access to designated student parking on campus.

Petition For Changes For Veltri Tennis Center & Termination of Superintendent Chris Cooksey

The tennis courts have been long overdue (5+ years) for renovation and/or resurfacing (fixing). Additionally, when under lightning delay, only the patrons of the tennis center have to evacuate the premises while the policy to do so isn’t uniformly enforced throughout the park as other sports participants are permitted to continue play.
We request:
1. For the tennis courts to finally and properly be resurfaced up to industry standard utilizing the untouched laser-grading machine in one of the sheds;
2. To either enforce uniformly throughout the park the evacuation for lightning for all facilities or allow the tennis patrons to equally assume the risk & play through it as all other sports participants do everywhere else; and
3. To shorten the lightning radius from 10 to 5 miles as the range is excessive, making patrons affected by lightning activity that isn’t directly affecting Plantation from, sometimes, multiple cities over.
These issues have been brought to the attention of Superintendent of Aquatic & Racquet Sports Chris Cooksey. However, not only has he failed to act to address these issues but also has ignored them almost entirely. Furthermore, Mr. Cooksey has arbitrarily & unjustifiably wielded his power to the detriment of the members, coaches & other patrons alike. Not withstanding, he has exhibited a tremendous lack of professionalism not befitting of someone in his position.

Pickleball is currently the fastest-growing sport in Australia. It offers an inclusive, low-impact, multi-generational activity that keeps seniors active, introduces youth to racquet sports, and builds strong community connections.
Unfortunately, Wollondilly currently lacks adequate indoor facilities dedicated to this sport. Local players are forced to travel outside the LGA or rely on outdoor tennis court conversions, which are confusing and frequently unusable due to wet weather, extreme heat, and scheduling conflicts with other sports.

Allow RECONSTRUCTION of the Islamic Center of Clermont for equality

Many of those who signed the petition to not allow the “expansion” of this mosque is in my opinion a Islamphobic person. To state that this will effect “traffic” as if there isn't already traffic in that area and clermont is already being reconstructed as we speak. Newer areas to remodel the county. Many also argue that they will enforce sharia law, how can you enforce a law when you’re not in power? These muslims solely want to create a livable-safe place to practice and worship their god. Why do Christians tell us Jesus loves us but treat us this way? If you love someone, wont you respect their religion? This is beyond disrespectful to every 900 people that signed that petition.
Second, these folks has been here for 15 years and bothered NO ONE! It is only right to allow them to remodel and have a beautiful, safe place to worship. By signing this, you are solely only allowing the building and the remodel of this mosque.
Third, these muslims arent “expanding”, they are reconstructing a old, smaller place to accommodate the other muslims that live in Lake County area. No muslim ever forces anyone to become muslim, in fact, it is a sin for them to force upon a religion and the duties from it.
And by the way, Rebecca was 3 years old.

Bring Back Raw Block Exam Scores

UICOM has revealed during M1 orientation and the Friday Aug 21 M2 orientation (at Rockford) that raw block exam scores after the exams are being taken away. This is the initial score students see upon submitting their block exams. As such, M2 students at the Chicago campus have put together this petition to fight this new change which puts undo stress on students and reduces transparency.
This new change not only results in days of additional uncertainty for many students, who otherwise can have somewhat of an idea of what to expect come Monday when official MPLs and scores are released, but no longer allows us to see the change in score resulting from questions on the exam being removed after exam administration.
This has been an ongoing discussion amongst students and the school because having a question you had gotten correct removed from the exam is designed to be punitive as it drops the exam score for the particular student who had gotten it correct. This question can be the difference between retaking the exam or moving forward, and even between retaking the year or continuing on with the rest of your class. This new change gives us pause — who does it benefit to reduce transparency? Instead, why should we not have an honest dialogue with our university leadership about why their system works this way when questions are removed? We have much more to gain from hearing the reasoning there than this loss in transparency.
Having the exam scores be released on Monday with the MPL will most definitely cause many of us loads and loads of stress, and as such, we believe that this change should be reversed and that the raw scores should be released as soon as the exams are completed by students, as they historically were.
The night and weekend after block exams are a time for students to come together as a community and celebrate the achievement of having another block exam under their belt, one block closer to becoming a doctor. Whether students come to their class’s block party disappointed or satisfied by their raw exam score, it’s an opportunity to find support, closure, and celebration. This needless change hurts our community, discourages our coming together to support and celebrate, and harms our trust in our school system.
Please sign on and share this petition so we can show the magnitude this decision holds for our class and future classes.

This would allow autistic individuals, neurodivergent guests, and those with sensory processing sensitivities to enjoy the park's world-class attractions in a safe, accessible, and comfortable environment.

Concerns Regarding The Mistreatment Of The Archbishop: Ethiopian Episcopal Church

18/08/2026
The Secretary General
ETHIOPIAN EPISCOPAL CHURCH
GRAHAMSTOWN
CONCERNS REGARDING THE MISTREATMENT OF THE ARCHBISHOP: ETHIOPIAN EPISCOPAL CHURCH
We, the concerned members of the Ethiopian Episcopal Church (EEC) are shocked by the preposterous decisions taken by the Bishops as contained in the Bishop's Internal Memo dated 14/08/2026 and the Executive Council regarding the Exit Plan of the Archbishop. We
hereby wish to express our discontent at the attempt of removing the Archbishop of the church from his position.
The Bishops and the Executive Council are not empowered by the EEC Acts to take such a stand against a seating Archbishop.
We believe that the EEC Acts fall short in addressing your absurd intentions of slander against the Archbishop. Perhaps this concern should be raised as a point of thorough discussion at Synod provided it is accompanied by a tangible motivation
We wish to remind the members of the Executive Council that they were elected at Synod and from their Dioceses and Associations. They were entrusted with a huge responsibility of building the Church and ensuring that there is Spiritual Growth among the members of the Church. It is very disappointing to note that the Executive Council that blundered in 2019 caused delays in the election of the current Archbishop attempts to repeat a similar act by causing instability and chaos in our Church.
We also note the continued disrespect shown to the leader of our church (Archbishop) by some members within the Executive Council.
This annoyance and obsession as displayed by the Executive Council towards one person is deeply frustrating the entire membership of our church. We appeal to those who elected themselves to be against one person to divorce their tendencies. As we preach the gospel of unity and respect in church.
We pray that the Bishops and the Executive Council desist from putting our Church in a mode of uncertainty. We also pray that this may not plunge our Church into similar schisms as those of 1983 and 1991.
Yours in Christ
CONCERNED CONGREGANTS

Za dostupno zdravstveno osiguranje za djecu stranca - for the health insurance of foreign children!

To treba promijeniti.
In Croatia, the children of foreign nationals do not enjoy the same rights as the children of Croatian or EU citizens. This constitutes a profound injustice against the world's most vulnerable group: children. A parent moving to Croatia with a child is required to pay an additional one-off fee of €1,500 to cover the preceding year—during which they did not reside in the country—followed by a monthly fee of €125 for the current year.
While the children of Croatian citizens receive health insurance coverage through their parents, the employment of foreign parents working in Croatia does not cover their children's healthcare, placing an immense financial burden on these families. This situation also affects Croatian citizens married to nationals of non-EU countries who have a child together that does not hold citizenship.
Providing basic health insurance for minors is a standard expectation in a civilized society. We want taxpayers, yet we make life difficult for them at every turn when they attempt to settle in our country. This needs to change.

Take Our Garbage Off the Streets – Underground Bins Across Malta & Gozo

PETITION: MAKE GARBAGE BAGS ON OUR STREETS A THING OF THE PAST
A call for underground waste collection systems across Malta & Gozo
We, the undersigned, call upon the Government of Malta and the relevant authorities to introduce a nationwide underground waste collection system across Malta and Gozo, replacing, wherever technically possible, the outdated practice of leaving garbage bags on our streets and pavements for collection.
The situation has gone beyond what should be considered acceptable.
Every single day, particularly in densely populated and tourism-heavy areas such as St Julian’s, Sliema and Swieqi, we see garbage bags lining pavements and street corners.
We see bags being torn open, rubbish scattered across streets, waste exposed to wind and rain, and people opening other people’s garbage bags and leaving their contents behind. Bottles, food waste and other rubbish end up scattered across our public spaces.
Residents report it. Councils clean it. Enforcement officers deal with it. Waste collectors return to it. And then, the following day, the cycle starts all over again.
Meanwhile, photographs and videos of garbage-filled streets are constantly shared on social media, creating endless negativity and portraying Malta as dirty and badly managed.
This should not be normal in 2026.
Malta has changed enormously. Our population has grown, tourism has increased, short-let accommodation has expanded and thousands of residents, workers and visitors live completely different schedules.
Yet we are still expecting bags of household waste to be placed directly onto pavements according to specific collection days and times.
It is time for the infrastructure to change.
We are calling for strategically located underground waste collection points throughout Malta and Gozo, with separate compartments for the appropriate waste streams and modern collection systems.
The objective should ultimately be simple:
No more household garbage bags lining our streets.
An underground system would help keep waste contained and out of sight, reduce bags being ripped open or interfered with, prevent rubbish being blown around by wind or affected by rain, reduce smells and improve hygiene, keep pavements clearer and make proper waste disposal easier for residents and visitors.
It could also reduce the enormous amount of time and resources currently being spent dealing with repeated complaints, enforcement, additional cleaning and the consequences of incorrectly disposed waste.
Where operationally possible, collection could also take place during quieter hours, reducing the impact of refuse vehicles on already congested roads.
Stop fighting the same problem every day
Education and enforcement are important, but there comes a point when we have to ask ourselves:
How many more years are we going to spend educating, fining, reporting, cleaning and arguing about garbage bags?
When the same problem happens repeatedly, despite enforcement campaigns and public awareness, we need to look at the system itself.
This is not about blaming Maltese people, foreigners, tourists, short-let guests or any particular group.
It is about creating a waste system that works for the Malta and Gozo of today.
People should be given a clean, accessible and practical way to dispose of properly separated waste without placing bags directly onto public pavements.
Our streets are not rubbish collection points.
Our pavements should not be storage areas for garbage bags.
And seeing household waste piled outside our homes, businesses and tourist areas should become a thing of the past.
We therefore call upon the Government to develop and fund a national programme for underground waste collection across Malta and Gozo, starting implementation as soon as possible and progressively replacing street-level garbage bags wherever technically feasible.
We spend enormous amounts of public resources dealing with the consequences of the current system.
It is time to invest those resources in fixing the problem at its source.
Malta and Gozo deserve cleaner streets, better infrastructure and a modern waste-management system fit for the country we are today.
TAKE OUR GARBAGE OFF THE STREETS.
MOVE MALTA & GOZO’S WASTE UNDERGROUND.
If you believe garbage bags on our streets should become a thing of the past, sign and share this petition.

Bail For Harriot Nomvulazana Mchlauli

TO THE PRESIDING OFFICER / MAGISTRATE / JUDGE:
WE, THE UNDERSIGNED RESIDENTS OF UPINGTON, AND PABALLELO IN PARTICULAR, do hereby respectfully submit this petition to the honorable court in unwavering support of the bail application of Harriot Nomvulazana Mchlauli, who is currently accused of (a charge of) murder.
We approach the court not to undermine the gravity of the law or the judicial process, but to formally request that this court consider the profound and exceptional circumstances surrounding the Accused, which we believe overwhelmingly justify the granting of bail in the interest of justice.
1. THE ACCUSED AS THE SOLE PILLAR OF A VULNERABLE FAMILY
The exceptional circumstance that we urgently place before this court is the absolute dependence of the Accused’s minor children on her daily care, presence, and maternal support. Harriot Nomvulazana Mchlauli is a mother of six (6) children, all of whom are currently facing destitution, severe trauma, and neglect in her absence.
1.1. She is the biological mother and sole primary caregiver of six minor children, whose ages are as follows:
* Child: 1: Anathi Mchlauli, 16yrs
* Child: 2: Asanda Mchlauli aged 14, who suffers from down Syndrome.
* Child: 3: Aviwe Mchlauli, 10yrs
* Child: 4: Reabetswe Bosman, 6yrs
* Child: 5: Keabetswe Bosman, 6yrs

Make PPWR Work for European SMEs

Make PPWR Work for European SMEs
We support the environmental objectives of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). However, its implementation risks creating disproportionate administrative and financial burdens for European SMEs trading across the Single Market. A business selling the same compliant product across several EU countries can face different national EPR registrations, reporting systems, fees, representatives and private compliance providers.
This creates unnecessary barriers to cross-border trade and is particularly burdensome for SMEs.
We therefore call on the European Parliament and European Commission to:
* Create ONE free EU-wide digital platform for all mandatory packaging EPR registrations, declarations and reporting.
* Allow businesses to submit their packaging information once, rather than repeatedly through different national systems.
* Ensure businesses can comply directly through the official EU platform without being required to pay private intermediaries simply to fulfil mandatory declarations.
* Establish clear, harmonised rules determining who is responsible for EPR in cross-border B2B transactions.
* Introduce simplified and proportionate procedures for SMEs and micro-enterprises.
* Ensure that national EPR requirements do not create unnecessary barriers to the free movement of goods and the EU Single Market.

We support the polluter-pays principle and strong environmental standards. We simply believe that complying with EU environmental legislation should not require European SMEs to navigate 27 fragmented administrative systems or pay disproportionate compliance costs.
Keep the environmental objectives.
Keep the producer responsibility.
Simplify the administration.
Make the Single Market work for SMEs.

Gort Road R380 - Loughrea Safety Campaign

The R380 urban road into Loughrea, Co. Galway, Ireland, from the west should be a safe route for families walking to our playgrounds, tennis courts, and the lake. Instead, it has become a motorists speedway - on a short 1 km stretch of road in the town.
In June 2025, Galway County Council's own survey found that 74% of drivers were breaking the 50 km/h speed limit. The fastest recorded? 119 km/h—in a zone where children cross to reach two playgrounds and the walking park that is Corry’s Field. We are calling on Galway County Council to:
1. Install table-top ramps at all three pedestrian crossings on this stretch—physical measures that force drivers to slow down, not just signs they ignore.
2. Install a permanent speed camera to enforce the limit consistently and deter dangerous driving.
3. Reduce the speed limit from the car park to the West Bridge to 30Kph
The council has the data. They know the danger. Now they need to act.

Allow the Use of Legally Caught Bream as Bait on Bush Hooks in Florida

Petition to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission
We, the undersigned Florida anglers, sportsmen, and supporters of responsible recreational fishing, respectfully request that the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) amend Florida’s freshwater fishing regulations to allow legally caught bream and other eligible panfish to be used as live bait on recreational bush hooks, subject to existing bag limits, possession limits, gear restrictions, and other applicable fishing regulations.
Why This Rule Should Be Changed
Florida currently allows anglers to legally catch certain bream and use them as bait when fishing with a rod and reel. However, those same legally caught fish cannot be used as bait on bush hooks.
We believe this distinction deserves reconsideration.
Bush-hook fishing is a traditional method of fishing that has been practiced by generations of Florida anglers, particularly when targeting catfish. Allowing legally caught bream to be used as bait would preserve this traditional fishing method while continuing to protect Florida’s freshwater fisheries.
Other states have demonstrated that live bream can be permitted as bait on certain forms of set-line or passive fishing gear while maintaining reasonable restrictions designed to protect fish populations and prevent abuse.
We are not asking Florida to eliminate conservation protections or fishing limits.
We are asking FWC to allow an angler who legally catches bream within Florida’s established regulations to use those fish as bait on a legal recreational bush hook.
We Propose That Florida Allow:
* Legally caught bream or other panfish species already eligible for use as bait to be used on recreational bush hooks.
* Any bream used as bait would continue to count toward the angler’s applicable daily bag and possession limits.
* Existing limits on the number of bush hooks, identification requirements, prohibited areas, and other gear regulations would remain in effect.
* Species currently prohibited from being used as bait would remain prohibited.
* FWC could establish reasonable hook-size or other conservation requirements if biological evidence demonstrates they are necessary.

Responsible Fishing and Conservation Can Coexist
Florida anglers have a strong interest in protecting the fisheries we enjoy today so that our children and grandchildren can enjoy them in the future.
Allowing legally caught bream to be used on bush hooks does not require abandoning conservation. It simply allows a legally harvested fish to be used as bait with one legal fishing method just as Florida already permits its use with another.
If an angler can legally catch a bream, keep that bream within the established bag limit, and use it as bait while fishing with a rod and reel, we believe that angler should also be permitted to use that same legally caught bream as bait on a properly marked and otherwise legal recreational bush hook.
We respectfully ask the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to review the current prohibition and begin the rulemaking process necessary to permit the responsible use of legally caught bream as bait on recreational bush hooks in Florida.
Please Sign This Petition
If you support traditional fishing methods, reasonable fishing regulations, and the responsible use of legally caught bream as bait on bush hooks, please add your name to this petition.
Together, Florida anglers can ask FWC to modernize this regulation while continuing to protect the freshwater resources that belong to all Floridians.

We understand that Alexander has been having a hard time in Lion and that his parents have asked for him to move to Tiger sooner. We would like to support Alexander in moving up sooner to meet his emotional and developmental needs, and we are happy for him to move up before our children.
Please reach out with any questions.
All the best,
Lion families

Protect Our Privacy: Remove Flock Surveillance Cameras from Rutherford County

Rutherford County belongs to its citizens, not a network of automated surveillance. The expansion of Flock Safety license plate readers across our roads poses a direct threat to our fundamental right to privacy, enabling continuous, warrantless location tracking of everyday residents going about their normal lives.
Mass surveillance tools like Flock cameras record where we drive, when we travel, and who we visit—storing vast amounts of location data on law-abiding citizens. Local traffic monitoring should not come at the cost of our civil liberties or hand off our community's movement history to expansive databases.
By signing this petition, you are calling on the Rutherford County Commissioners and local authorities to:
* Remove existing Flock Safety camera systems within county jurisdiction.
* Halt any future expansion or funding for automated license plate reader (ALPR) network surveillance.
* Prioritize transparent, constitutional public safety solutions that respect the Fourth Amendment rights of every resident and visitor.

Stand up for constitutional privacy in Rutherford County. Sign and share this petition today to demand an immediate end to local mass surveillance!

We ask the Harrisonburg Parks and Recreation Department to:
1. Completely resurface the Morrison Park pickleball courts rather than continue relying on temporary crack repairs.
2. Establish and publicly communicate a timetable for completing the work.
3. Add a lighting system so that people can play after their work days.
We therefore urge the City of Harrisonburg and the Parks and Recreation Department to make the resurfacing of the Morrison Park pickleball courts a priority and restore them to safe playing condition as soon as possible

For sustainable and humane pigeon management in Lucerne

Lucerne needs a sustainable solution that benefits people, animals and the city alike.
OUR DEMANDS
We call on the City of Lucerne to introduce a sustainable and humane system of feral pigeon management based on the Augsburg Model. (https://www.eurogroupforanimals.org/files/eurogroupforanimals/2022-01/Management%20of%20City%20Pigeons_People%20for%20Animal%20Rights_2021.pdf) The aim is to regulate the pigeon population humanely and over the long term while sustainably reducing soiling and conflicts in public and private spaces.
Learn more on our petition website (https://www.stadttauben-luzern.ch/english.html).
FOR READERS IN A HURRY
The current situation affects residents, property owners, local businesses and the pigeons themselves. Soiling, high cleaning costs and animal suffering are not unavoidable features of urban life, but the result of an inadequate pigeon management system.
Feral pigeons are the product of human domestication and selective breeding; as a result, they have a strong reproductive drive. Since they were released or escaped from human care, they have been forced to live as homeless animals on our streets.
Managed pigeon lofts based on the Augsburg Model have provided a tried-and-tested solution for many years, bringing together animal welfare, urban cleanliness and economic efficiency.
BACKGROUND
Feral pigeons are descendants of domestic and racing pigeons. Adapted to life alongside humans over thousands of years, they retain characteristics that make independent life in cities difficult: they are extremely loyal to their home territory, breed throughout the year and use buildings as nesting sites. Feral pigeons do not pose a greater health risk than other birds.
As grain-eating birds, they find very little appropriate food in cities and, driven by hunger, feed on human food waste. This results in poor nutrition, malnutrition, disease and injuries. In their constant search for food, they spend a great deal of time on the ground, where their feet can become entangled in hair, string and other thread-like litter, often resulting in severe injuries.
THE SITUATION IN LUCERNE
According to estimates by the authorities, around 2,000 to 3,000 feral pigeons live in the city. The two existing pigeon lofts provide only 180 nesting boxes and therefore serve only a small proportion of the population.
Crucially, the pigeons are not provided with appropriate food in the lofts. This means that a key mechanism for encouraging pigeons to use and remain in the lofts is missing. The birds continue to search for food in public spaces and breed on buildings, on balconies and at other uncontrolled locations.
The City of Lucerne takes the view that sufficient food is available to feral pigeons in public spaces. However, reducing the available food supply has little effect on breeding activity while increasing mortality and susceptibility to disease. The watery droppings frequently observed in malnourished feral pigeons, sometimes referred to as “hunger droppings”, are also associated with inadequate nutrition.
Two pigeon lofts alone do not constitute a pigeon management system. Without a coordinated and comprehensive approach, soiling, uncontrolled breeding and animal suffering will continue.
THE SOLUTION
Sustainable pigeon management based on the Augsburg Model consists of several coordinated measures:
* Establishing managed pigeon lofts at suitable hotspots
* Providing appropriate food and water
* Humane population management through systematic egg replacement
* Professionally closing unmanaged nesting sites without harming the birds
* Targeted public information and, where necessary, feeding restrictions outside the lofts

These measures encourage pigeons to use the managed lofts and remain there. Sick or injured birds can be identified early and given appropriate care. A large proportion of the droppings accumulates inside the lofts, where it can be removed safely and professionally.
Why killing pigeons is not a solution
Culling does not address the causes of the pigeon problem. Reduced populations can recover as other pigeons move into the area and resources become available to the remaining birds.

No new tourist beds on Paros

The recent destruction by fire of the most pristine part of our island resembles a death foretold. For at least a decade now, Paros has been in the crosshairs of interests that see our island as a profit field, while remaining completely indifferent to its sustainability and future. The future of Paros is being planned by centres outside Paros.
The difficulties in waste management, the pressures on the water supply, the heavy strain on the primary sector, as necessary as it is precious, as well as on the lives of those who persist in living in the traditional villages, the permanent summer traffic congestion, and the shortage of parking space, all cry out that carrying capacity has been exceeded.
And instead of preparing for the climate crisis that is already battering our islands(1), we face intense pressure for further "investments" in tourism, while the role of the Municipality and concerned citizens in critical decision-making continues to be weakened.
Beyond the immediate, short-term measures we must demand for our island in light of this recent disaster, it is now necessary that we also fight for what is being prepared for the near future:
The new Local Urban Plan (Τ.Π.Σ.), the plan that will determine land use for the next 20-plus years, is being drawn up by a consulting firm commissioned by the Ministry, following directions handed down from Athens, without taking into account the proposals officially submitted by the Municipality and the citizens of our island.
What does the Τ.Π.Σ. provide for regarding tourist beds? Hotels of up to 100 beds across much of the coastal zone. That is, even larger hotels than those allowed under the old General Urban Plan (Γ.Π.Σ.), which set a ceiling of 80 beds. And this, even though in the Carrying Capacity Study (Μ.Φ.Ι.) accompanying the proposed spatial plan, the critical indicator capturing the resident/visitor ratio is 2.31, exceeding the critical threshold of 2.00, the point marking the maximum tolerable capacity. This calculation does not include new beds (hotels, rental rooms, or homes that will also be used for short-term rental) that have recently opened, are under construction, or have been licensed for construction. By 2030, the tolerable-population index will have risen to dangerous levels.
What is the situation right now? At this moment, Paros receives around one million visitors every year. As those of us who live on the island know all too well, that number of visitors is already barely tolerable. Any additional infrastructure built to serve more visitors would place even greater strain on natural resources and on infrastructure already under pressure (including waste management, which was the direct cause of the forest fire), as well as on the daily lives of both permanent residents and visitors. By 2030, when the ΤΠΣ is expected to be legislated, this critical indicator will already have reached disastrous levels.
(1)International studies have for years predicted the particular vulnerability of the Aegean region to the effects of the climate crisis. In Paros, the centuries-old Junipers that were reduced to ashes by the fire had already shown pronounced signs of decline due to prolonged drought.

Say 'NO' - Proposed Daycare needs a new Traffic Light on Stilesboro Road at Dennis Kemp Lane

DID YOU KNOW THAT COBB DOT RECOMMENDS THE ADDITION OF A TRAFFIC LIGHT ON STILESBORO ROAD TO ENSURE SAFE ACCESS FOR THE CLIENTS OF A PROPOSED DAYCARE FACILITY AT THE CORNER OF DENNIS KEMP LANE ???

1. Do you want the additional delays of a Traffic Light at Stilesboro Road and Dennis Kemp Lane?
2. Do you want more traffic due to the proposed 150 - 170 children attending this new daycare facility on Dennis Kemp Lane across from the Zaxby's?

If your answer is "NO!", then please support this petition and email our Commissioners to tell them that you do not want additional traffic and delays.
Petition Against Approval of OB-13-2026: Creative World Schools Daycare (https://cobbcoga.portal.civicclerk.com/event/1273/files/attachment/44734)
Stilesboro Road & Dennis Kemp Lane – Commission District 1
The application proposes a one-story daycare center for approximately 150–167 children (infant to preschool age) on property at the northeast corner of Stilesboro Road and Dennis Kemp Lane. According to the official Cobb Department of Transportation comments:
* Stilesboro Road is an arterial carrying 14,000 vehicles per day and operating at Level of Service D.
* Trip generation for a daycare of this size is estimated at 117 vehicles per hour in the AM peak, 119 vehicles per hour in the PM peak, and 614 vehicles per day.
* The facility is anticipated to have 100% parent walk-in to the classrooms and therefore does not require an internal traffic circulation/queuing plan.

Severe Parent Parking Shortage Creates Direct Safety Risks
The site plan shows (https://cobbcoga.portal.civicclerk.com/event/1273/files/attachment/44975) only 42 parking spaces. Cobb DOT notes that while this meets the Code minimum of 20 spaces, ITE Parking Generation standards indicate the 85th percentile requirement is 51 spaces for 150 students. Per the applicant, employees are expected to use 29 of the 51 spaces leaving parents at most 22 parking spots.
Because this is a pure walk-in facility with no pick-up or drop-off queue lanes, every parent must park, escort young children into the building, and later park again to retrieve them. With only 22 spaces available during peak times, the predictable results are parents circling or idling, overflow parking onto surrounding streets, and the potential for young children being walked across active traffic—creating serious safety risks.
A New Traffic Light Is Required — and Will Itself Create Additional Delays
County traffic engineers have determined that the additional traffic from this daycare will significantly worsen delays at the currently unsignalized intersection to the point that a traffic signal is warranted. The applicant is being asked only to contribute 10% of the estimated cost of $750,000 (https://cobbcoga.portal.civicclerk.com/event/1273/files/attachment/44734), leaving the public to fund the majority of the 'improvement'.
While making the intersection safer for those leaving Dennis Kemp Lane, the installation of a new traffic signal will itself introduce additional delays for all travelers using Stilesboro Road. Drivers who currently proceed through the intersection will face new stop-and-go cycles, longer queues, and increased travel times—especially during the same peak hours when daycare and pre-school traffic is highest. The community would therefore absorb both the congestion created by this daycare and the further delays caused by the traffic light needed to manage that congestion.
The original 1995 rezoning (Z-121) required Board of Commissioners final approval of the use and design of buildings on this Office/Institutional property. Approving a high-intensity daycare that generates hundreds of daily trips, leaves parents with critically insufficient parking, forces walk-in operations amid peak-hour congestion, requires a new traffic signal, and will impose additional signal-related delays on the traveling public fails that protective standard.
We therefore request that the Board of Commissioners deny OB-13-2026 to protect the safety of children, parents, and the traveling public and to avoid imposing new and lasting traffic delays on the community.

The expansion of a worship facility onto 3.8 adjacent acres of established residential land could significantly and negatively affect our residential neighborhood through increased traffic, noise, infrastructure strain, pedestrian safety concerns, environmental and health impacts on surrounding wellheads and groundwater, and changes to community character.
